So Chelsea have put a price of £20m on Thibaut Courtois, currently on loan at Atletico Madrid, to ward of potential suitors. If he is valued at £20m by Chelsea, then what price should we place on Simon (a better keeper altogether imo)?

I reckon we should be demanding £25m as a starting price but obviously this will all depend on what league we are in during the summer. If we are relegated we will be lucky to get £5m for the keeper as we once again will have to look to cut the costs.

Not only will we look to miss out on the huge bonanza of the new TV deal but we will also have to sell most of our big earning squad at cut price deals, or just release them and pay the compensation. Fletcher, Catts, JOS, Johnson and Sessegnon will all leave for fractions of the amounts we could get if still in the EPL.

The next few weeks are not just about the TV money for next year but imo its a battle for our very existence, as we will never recover form yet another cut price clear out and Ellis, quite rightly, will be looking to recover any money for his investment.

A new manager in the championship will be an Appelton or Adkins and no money to spend. We wont come back up straight away and may well just drift away like Leeds have for the last 6 or 7 years, or both Sheffield clubs for longer. All 3 of these are big clubs who are struggling to escape the lower leagues.

If we stay up, we could move some of our players on for bigger money and properly rebuild in the summer.

I think £20m for the mig, and I have to agree that the prospect of relegation has got me very concerned for the future of SAFC, we will be shattered and potentially ****ed as you say.

This final few weeks could make or break our club, survival could represent the last piece of the jigsaw, relegation doesnt bare thinking about although i know we cant help it.

    Scary scary times mate

Keep him if we stay up, we would be in the relegation zone without him.

MON will keep us up man dont worry, he wont be sitting there thinking we are doomed, he will be working tirelessly to keep us up. And if he does part company in the summer then I think we should say thank you for keeping us up! Instead of slating him for an average season. Its been blown way out of proportion our current situation, its been like this 5 out of 6 seasons we have been back in the Prem.

I think we will go down and I also think Mignolet will be away in this summer, probably for around the 6m mark.

When we are relegated and agents start to play games, a move can and will be forced for a minimal price.

Where abouts in Jarra you from anyway?

No way you will go down like.
Was brought up on the scotch estate when I was young. Lived in shields for a while and live in hebburn now although I spend more time out the country than I do in it on a yearly basis.

You poor thing, times must be hard....

I was brought up in Primrose and still living there now, love it.

p.s. I've seen our relegation teams before and this team has that feeling we are going through it all again. I don't think we will win another game this season, probably pick up 2 maybe 3 draws.

If Wolves can sell Fletcher for £12m and Jarvis £10m when they're in the champinship, no reason we can't demand at least £10m for Mig

Courtois is ahead of Mignolet in the national side so wed be struggling to argue for a bigger fee. Plus Courtois is playing at European level and at a team who will qualify for the champions league.

I suspect if Mig goes we'll get around £10m with add ons

    15m for Mig

I want the lad to stay but if a club comes in for him thats what I think would be a good fee for him

need to get out there looking for a good young, upcoming keeper from across Europe incase he does go

If we fluked one ****ty goal against Norwich we would of went above Newcastle but Newcastle would not have been calling for Pardew's heed.

We are a bunch of bed wetters at times. Yes poor season but if you put a new man in next season he still has the same players that MON has had this season bar maybe a couple of signings. We just have to put up with this **** for a bit longer (eg. Everton).

I see what you're saying mate

But for me it's about performances, you can excuse a defeat/draw if the team shows desire, generally play quite well and create plenty of chances.

We would have lost that game were it not for a debatable penalty decision. We were ****ing awful. Not once did we open them up and we have been that way for the majority og the season. That is the most concerning thing for me

If you spend £30m and you're still struggling to stay in the league something is desperately wrong. Why give him more money, when he's achieved little with that amount? That's what ES will be thinking

He needs to go in the summer imo

I agree about having a **** squad but the manager has to take blame as well

his tactics are crap, sets the team out rubbish and subs are rubbish

    we need a total revamp

bring someone in with fresh positive idea's from abroad IMO who will bring a totally new look to the club and we desperately need a squad overhaul

hope Ellis is prepared to get the cheque book out, could need to spend up to 30m the squad is that bad

Its the manner in which we find ourselves in this situation, not the results on their own.

True, I agree in past seasons we actually have put up fights but this season the standard of football has dropped dramatically, is it even football we are playing? It looks like we are running around playing tag instead of playing football.
