I am truly disgusted with this decision. The FA should be ashamed of themselves.

The ban for these types of tackles should be: Not allowed to play again until the player they have injured has returned to playing PLUS 5 match ban on top of that. No point ****ing about here. 3, 4,5, 6,7,8,9 matches might not have been justified if Haidara is still injured. FA giving no ban is an insult to Haidara. Imagine if this tackle had been on an England international.

I'm probably going to rile people further, but I genuinely don't care that McManaman has not been banned. Whatever they could have done would have been pissing in the wind anyway, compared with the damage he has potentially done to Haidara, so it doesn't really matter whether he's playing again next weekend or in 3 weekends from now really.

The FA should have done something, unquestionably, but in not doing so they've created a storm that Callum McManaman and Wigan shall have to ride out for longer than any potential ban. I think the reaction from fans, players and former refs will act as a preventative of such challenges. It obviously won't stop them all together, but neither will banning players for 3 games.

For the wider circles, maybe, maybe not.

But I'm just glad nobody will suggest flibbering Martinez's name with our management position again!

I do agree to an extent that no 3 match ban or whatever was decided would be enough considering the seriousness of the incident, however even after deciding to take no action against the Thug, there was nothing stopping the FA from condemning his recklessness, and stating how dangerous it could be!
