May I also suggest you let them know that there's hundreds of City supporters going down to the pubs and just let them know how much of a farce they've made. Obviously they should already know but seem to be unable to come up with a reasonable answer. I would love to see their reaction when about 300 supporters go to the match and there's about 1000 City fans plus Hudds fans also in local pubs, they won't be able to deal with them will they.
They're aware of it, or at least will be when they read my follow up email. Next Friday morning I think I'll top this and have another one with all the fast food outlets in Huddersfield town centre at the top. We want as many people as possible supporting those businesses. No reason they should lose out because of police inadequacies.
That will be one long bloody post, there are as many takeaways in Huddersfield as there are people! I know it's a bit far in advance but it really depends what you want, if you want KFC style chicken your best bet is to go to Marstons' on the way from Junction 25 of the M62, absolutely brilliant chicken. For Chinese 88 Noodle bar on Cross Church street is the best takeaway in town IMO, with Malakais next door that does decent pizza and really good kebabs, and there's loads of chicken George types down there too. Also the usual McDonalds, Burger King, KFC, Subway and Wimpy burger in the town centre.
You heard anything yet? I don't know if it's in response to my initial email to his assistant or the followup that I sent to McManus because they don't reply to the actual email so much as they send a whole new one, but I now have a response from Guildford as well. He says that "as a football fan himself" he's "sorry to hear about (my) plans to boycott the game" and he'd "prefer us all to attend...and enjoy" what he's "sure will be a great day out". I can't tell if he's doing it to take the piss now or not. Oh, and we can contact tourist information to find out which pub is the most appropriate for us whilst we're there, so that'll be an interesting email when I explain why I'm contacting them. I may as well get a bit of information about the nightlife in Huddersfield whilst I'm at it. Yet another bit of police intelligence lacking if they can't identify for themselves which pubs have the least incidents of disorder and have to send people elsewhere.
"Can you tell me where the nearest KFC is please ?" http://ca.images.search.yahoo.com/i...=13ksp2odi&sigi=11hmdlgs5&.crumb=IAN1zi599cS&
The protest march goes passed a KFC I don't know what it's like during the day, but if you want to witness something a bit different, at the end of the night -Huddersfield's Dixy Chicken! Last time I was in Huddersfield in there, there was 3 girls slumped on the floor crying while being spoken to by West Yorkshire Police, a group of lads in the queue behind a group of lasses, who then started to grope the lasses tits and arses...and the lasses carried on ordering like nothing different was happening ....oh and then there was a lass getting fingered in the corner! Chicken Hut across the road is a much classier place, haha.
Vegetarian is never a decent option Meat is wonderful* *I may have posted something similar on an altogether different forum in the early hours of this morning
Yes I've since had a reply with nothing of note in it. As for your last paragraph. They just don't want to advise you which ones are safest because you can then use it against them.
I'd say when their reasoning behind bubbling us is specificly to prevent trouble being caused by us drinking that they should have intelligence that tells them which pubs pose the most threat. If they can't provide that information it's much easier to build that into the case against them than it would be if they gave us some pubs that they would prefer us to use.
