It looks like we're the first to make Norris a firm(and lucrative) offer

I read about norris earlier on. I really hope we get this deal done. Could be a very good signing in an important season. Him and Danns cm would be quality.

if danns is as good as everyone is making out, we should have paid up in january and got him then, the transfer fee couldnt have been that much for a player with 6 months left on his contract. surely pearson would have known other clubs would be after him, especially the 3 that come down from the PL.

As with Adam at Blackpool being expensive in January, it wouldn't matter that Danns only had 6 months left as losing him could have been the difference between survival and relegation for Palace and the cost of relegation is several million (as Huddersfield are saying it's about £2.5M difference for TV money and that commercial revenue will double in the Championship along with increased travelling support visiting every couple of weeks).

I think it was pretty clear Palace weren't letting him go in January. They're still desperate to keep him, but it's common knowledge Danns will be on his way next month. Good shout earlier about West Ham - but let's be honest, who would really want to be there at the minute?

I've said earlier Norris would be a fantastic scalp. Comparable to Evans, but has alot more experience and he can chip in with a few goals. He would fill a big gap in that midfield, playing alongside Danns or not

The nicest thing I can say about him, is he's good at pointing.

If we were looking for someone to get back in that wooden box in the middle of Spring Back and direct the traffic, then he'd be ideal. Unfortunately, we're looking for a footballer and he's under qualified.

Players come because of managers - after the money of course!
Fans may look at clubs in terms of crowds, position in the league, tradition, etc. but if a player respects a manager it goes a long way.
Nigel Pearson seems a real football man who's very funny - when not being interviewed!

"City are interested in both Neil Danns and Bradley Johnson, of Crystal Palace and Leeds respectively, but reports of an offer being tabled for Ipswich skipper and former loan man David Norris are wide of the mark."

He'd obviously agreed a deal with Pompey already, they've probably been in talks since they tabled a bid in January.

I'm not sure we'll get any of our recognised Bosman targets.

Norris has already gone to Pompey.

Danns will go to one of the relegated sides because I bet yhey will outbid us on wages.

Bradley Johnson has got a couple of Premier League sides talking to his representatives.

We may be left grubbing around the bargain basement as with Adebola.

So it's taken two weeks for the pessimism to set in! The season hasn't even finished yet, if another month down the line we've still not brought in much then maybe we can start to worry.

yup, worries me a bit Strovolos.

surely if Danns wanted to come here, we'd have it wrapped up by now. we obviously arnt that attractive as a club to him or he would have snapped up our offer ? he'd rather wait to see if west ham, wolves, wigan etc offer him anything.. which is fair enough..

To be looking for central midfielders is a bit premature.
We have now got back two of them, our high earners JB and SO.
Need to off load them quickly first.

Without Norris we've got to push to get Danns now, we definitely need a player like him.
