    Are you for or against the rule? IMHO we need this rule to protect the integrity of the game but managers should also be able to turn their squad around if they feel like it or if they want to rest players for another competition. Maybe there should be a maximum number of changes you're normally allowed(e.g 5) then another 3 changes if your league match is 2 or 3 days before a cup match.

    If they're going to have the 25-man squad rule, then this shouldn't exist imo. Should be either one or the other.

  3. It's a ****ing ridiculous rule that makes it out as if the FA knows the players better than the manager does!!

    Who says which players make up the strongest ****ing team?

    It's the manager who decides which team is strongest for the occassion.

    FA = ****ing arseholes,.

    Dead right. That 25 man squad are all good enough for the Premier League if they've been submitted, therefore the only reason the 'strongest team' rule should be applied is if a team plays a load of youth players who don't need to be named at the start of the season. Holloways fine this season was ridiculous, especially considering the result.

    As has been said. They make you select a 25 man squad. So any combination of players from that squad should be considered strong enough.

    This does leave the under 21 players so I agree that there should be a limit as to the number of those that can be brought in to a team as a change.

    Therefore if you replace your first team (mostly 25 man squad) with a team that is effectively your youth team (even if there are a few senior pro's still in it) you are guilty of fielding a weakened team.

    It's a ****ing ****e rule. I agree with the comments above stating why it's ****e. How are younger players supposed to get used to big stadiums, used to the pressure, used to the atmospehere and used to the speed of the game. It's the managers discretion who they want to play. Knowone elses!

    I know what your saying but whats wrong with fielding a weakened team? Its the managers choice and it gives other people a chance to prove they are good enough. It's a joke of a rule!

    It should be part and parcel of the game...you could say the same about injuries, its unfair that newcastle and sunderland have got 8+ players EACH out at the moment therefore their strongest team can't play (I know they don't have a choice)

    Terrible rule, mainly because there's no real way of proving whether someones' guilty or not. Who are the FA to say that that was a weak team?

    Imagining the worst case scenario that would piss me off; Newcastle need to win to get into champions league or avoid the drop, but they also need another result to go their way. The Toon do the biz and win their game but the other result goes the other way because one of the teams involved played a team of kids meaning they lost a game you would have expected them to win. I'd think that was unfair and wouldn't be happy. But not being a hypocrite about it I realise the only way this can be prevented is by a system of rules implemented by the league. So in that respect I support some measure of control. I agree though that it should be very relaxed and should allow the use of youth and fringe players. The example I gave before; where the team was almost all youth is the only example I would think falls foul of any rules I would want.

    The only way to breach it should be if you compose a team mostly of under-21s (don't need to be included in 25 man squad if you're 21 or younger at the start of the season) wen it isn't absolutely necessary.

    But who is to say what your strongest AVAILABLE team is. Give other players a chance. Anyways I personally think it should be solely up to what the manager wants to do.
