If they're kept indoors don't they have to be described as "barn" rather than "free range"?

They were third when he went, but with the money they'd spent, they should have walked the league.

The fans didn't accept him, as he was a twat and was seen as a Venky's yes man.

    Allardyce is indeed a ****, but he's a fairly effective managerial ****.

Indeed, there was a discussion on here recently when I lampooned his 'long ball style' image and through gritted teeth admitted he is a very good manager and the worst thing the Jawdies did was sack him.

    I hated typing it though.

I thought the definitions were broadly speaking:

Battery is in the tiny cages
Barn is indoors but able to move
Free range is basically the same as barn but they're outdoors

Obviously the companies want the description to be as far down that list as possible, but the law requires they meet all the requirements before they can, which is probably why "barn" was created in the first place, so they could keep them indoors without saying battery.

It could have changed, I just always remember being told as a kid being sent to the shop for eggs not to buy the barn ones.

I never heard the term Barn chickens, logically what you say, must have come from a different side of the city to you.

I thought battery chickens were like those battery rabbits, just not using Duracell's?

Just skimmed through this thread and I'm a bit confused. Are you all saying Allardyce runs on batteries or is it a wind up?

They'd still be a mid table Premier League club if they'd of stuck with Big Sam.

He runs on batteries when he's indoors, but when he goes free range he's solar powered.

Ah, I briefly skimmed past the word 'barn' and made a mental note to go back and find the Dean Marney connection.

Agreed. The LMA need to issue a statement to all members to boycott Blackburn Rovers. They have had 6 managers this season now. 3 permanant and 3 caretakers.
Steve Kean - Eric Black(c/t) - Henning Berg - Gary Bowyer(c/t) - Michael Appleton - Gary Bowyer again(c/t) to the seasons end.

Blackburn Rovers have had more managers this season than say Manchester Utd have had since 1971. :emoticon-0116-evilg

Nevermind the Venkys being chicken sh.it owners - they really dont have a plucking clue. ;)

Talking about Big Sam the reason he was sacked from Blackburn was that he was on the touch line and after a hard tackle he shouted "foul" and the Venky's thought he was taking the piss.

Apart from the wonga - You could say the same thing about DJC. I would be surprised if either are there next season now.

Blackburn is a perfect case study of how not to run a club. I really feel for their fans.
