*sigh* no, what a completely ridiculous comment. It's never going to be entirely one thing, but missing one thing can be and often is a barrier to success. Comments like this are just ******ed.
I agree, I really don't like the idea of warnock having a say and us appointing a manager with the same style of football
I never made a ridiculous comment. All I said was that the mentality around a club, including its fans, can boost a team or hold it back. Either you agree this is true or you think that the idea of the "12th man" is bullshit and there's no such thing as human psychology. It's possible to overcome the feeling of negativity with effort and focus, but not consistently in the long term. It will eventually drag the team down, as it has done for the last few seasons. Yes, a better team would have helped, but twofold, in that it would have lifted the mood of the crowd AND been capable of doing more on the pitch. However, with the state of affairs at the club, nobody seems to have any genuine belief that it's possible. Nobody at Leeds United genuinely believes the club can show any ambition without showing a "statement of intent". It's about ambition, a big club acting like a small club and spending very little sends out a message of "we have no ambition, we're not that bothered about going up" because the club is therefore not willing to take risks, not willing to do everything in its power to ensure that that happens. A small club requires very little to show ambition.
If you were to go on attendances alone, Leeds would not be in the top 6 this season - you are not a big club, its just some of your fans that think you are
And if you were going to go on potential attendances that we could get if the club didn't abuse and exploit the fan base? We'd top the attendances every season with reasonable prices and a show of ambition.
Pure wind-up. For a chap who spends many hours on our board, you are, I am sure, aware of the many other fans who come on here to express their wish we were back in the Prem because we are a big club.
