Sunderlan may well lose to UTD, Chelsea and Newcastle so could well be in the bottom three by that point and if they are I can see them staying there. Either way after the next three games I think we will be above them and are chances of going down will reduce further.

I think we can catch those teams above us easier than those below will catch us. Norwich, Newcastle, West Ham, Stoke and Fulham are all getting a mix bag of results and it only takes someone to put a run together to finish at the top of that little lot. The way Stoke have been playing it is highly unlikely but not impossible that come last game of the season we are on a holiday and they need to win to stay up. Imagine how good that would be!

Be even sweeter if we are on holiday and another team need us to beat Stoke. We would of course promise to be professional but Lallana's flip flops will give it away.

Lallana's flip flops? Better make sure he's not wearing them at the moment. Could explain his wayward shooting.

Either way, someone needing us to beat Stoke or them beat us. It would be nice to be in a situation where we are completely safe by then.

The cherry on the cake would of course be if that team was managed by Harry. In which case our whole XI, and not just Lallana, will hopefully be walking out in flip flops.

Someone from Stan James was on Talksport earlier and have it as follows:
    Saints 7/1
    Sunderland 7/2
    Villa 7/4
    Wigan 10/11
    QPR 1/6
    Reading 1/20

It would suggest the the bookmakers have now got QPR and Reading as down, with the reamining place 1 from 4. I could see sunderlands odds reducing a lot over the next few games.

Incidently they have Adkins as Evens to take the Reading job.

My Sunderland supporting friend at work is convinced that they are going down, and after watching their match yesterday I have to agree, they were absolutely dire. Hard to pinpoint what's going wrong with them really, they have some good players and supposedly a good manager.

Yes it's odd, I thought before we played them they were going to get dragged in and then they put a good run together. Maybe O'Neil isn't as good as we all think.

    I did the Predictor:

    12. Norwich 42 Points
    13. Wigan 42 Points
    14. Southampton 40 Points
    15. West Ham 40 Points
    16. Stoke 38 Points
    17. Sunderland 37 Points
    18. Aston Villa 37 Points
    19. QPR 35 Points
    20. Reading 27 Points

It was 2 relegated from 7 on the last day.

(Also had Southampton beating West Ham but don't tell Trixter, it's a secret...)

Tbh I don't really mind where we finish as long as we don't go down.

    Come on Bzzz

We have gotta aim for more than 7 points against:

    WBA H
    SAINTS A
    WIGAN H
    NEWCASTLE H
    EVERTON A
    READING H

12 points has gotta be the aim out of those and I wouldn't put it past us to pick up some "bonus points" against Liverpool and Man Utd.

You getting nervous Trix! I think I have one in the bag and if we play like we did on Saturday it could be two!

And if you play like you did against qpr?

    It changes every week Lambo.

Last week I was up. This week you are.

The next round of fixtures sees us playing at home to WBA and you playing Chelsea.

I do think Bzzz was a bit too generous towards Wigan. Can't see them winning 5 more matches. They have an easy game against you of course though<whistle>

West Ham could do us a favour in those fixtures...don't care where they finish if they beat Wigan, Newcastle and Reading.

When did we play QPR? I know we gave them a seeing to at their place yonks ago but pretty sure we haven't played them since then, I'd definitely have remembered, especially considering it was a locked-in 3 points! Only teams we've played recently are City and Liverpool, don't know if you heard, but we gave them both quite the beating.

I had Wigan, West Brom, Newcastle and Man Utd all down as draws (staying up Allardyce style)
In my prediction, the time we played Man Utd, they needed one point to win the title so I assumed it would be like Man U vs Blackburn a few years ago.
Win against Reading, all the away games as defeats, that way if we do get something it will be a bonus.

I predicted the usual Wigan escape.

I think you are looking at very much a worst case scenario there Bzzz.

    WBA H 3
    SAINTS A 1
    WIGAN H 3
    NEWCASTLE H 1
    EVERTON A 0
    READING H 3

That's 11 and I think we will manage a bonus point or maybe even a win against one of man Utd, Liverpool or city
