I've put some random postcodes into the Sky website, if anyone knows any others feel free to add them to the thread, or to circulate the list around other message boards so that their users have access to it. These are all pubs in Huddersfield that have Sky Sports, and should therefore be showing our game with them in a few weeks time. Wellington 17 Westgate Huddersfield HD1 1NP Crown 45 Westgate Huddersfield HD1 1PB The Vulcan 32 St Peters Street Huddersfield HD1 1RA Yorkshire Victoria 51 Lockwood Road Huddersfield HD1 3PL Plumbers Arms 6 Macaulay Street Huddersfield HD1 2JY New Wharf 52 Wakefield Road Huddersfield HD1 3AQ Bridge 159-161 Manchester Road Huddersfield HD1 3LE Commercial 43 Church Street Huddersfield HD1 4UB Brooks Arms 19 Broad Lane Huddersfield HD5 9BX Ivy Green 329 Wakefield Road Huddersfield HD5 8DE Disclaimer: This thread is for information purposes only. There are lots of exiled City fans who already have travel and accomodation arranged in Huddersfield who may as well still see the game and have the weekend away. If anybody else chooses to act on this information they do so of their own free will and I accept no responsibility for their actions.
mrsfattiger (as Hudds born and bred) advises The Wellington and The Crown are close to the station and decent. Avoid The Vulcan at all costs. this comes with a 'don't shoot the messenger' disclaimer.
Theres plenty of bars in the town centre too, warehouse, varsity and zetland will all have it on, as will the student union (you dont have to be a student to go in). Theres also the Somerset Arms on Wakefield Road with Sky, although its shut for a refurb at the moment so im not sure if it will be open. Warehouse would be my recommendation, its cheap beer with plenty of options, is central and massive.
KC Ticket Office now say that NO TICKETS WILL BE GIVEN OUT IN ADVANCE OF THE GAME DAY........ saturday 30th March 2013. Regardless of how you travel independantly to the game Match Tickets will ONLY be given out @ Hartshead Moor Service Station. So how do the train goers COLLECT there tickets then is my question ? OR will there be a seperate city official giving them out on arrival @ the station ? what an utter shambles this is.!!!! WYP / Hull City AFC say that you can park at either side of Hartshead Moor Services car parks But you have to walk back to the westbound side for your tickets and to catch the buses to the ground after you park up
This must be an old list - The New Wharf is closed. I walked past it a few weeks back when visiting mates. The Crown is the pub I originally suggested as they always put City on for me when everywhere else couldn't put it on because they had a Premier League game or rugby on (many times when nobody else was in the place!!! It was 'incase' anybody came in and wanted to watch the rugby/premier league). The Crown is also big enough - I saw part of 1 game in The Wellington, it was cramped in there and they turned City over halfway through the second half 'because somebody had asked to watch the Wakefield rugby match'. Never went in The Falcon, but it's near a block of flats that a chav threw not 1, but 2 really old nokia mobile phones at me from a balcony high up as I walked past.
Does ricky's opposite the john Smith's stadium have sky? I drive past it a lot and the sign says it also has lapdancing?
I would suggest that every pub and club in Huddersfield will have the game on for obvious reasons. Unless of course WYP have decreed that out of bounds as well.
Could well be, it took them a year to get me off their list for the monthly magazine when I cancelled my subscription, they did at one point have it though so all it'l do is mean there's some angry fans if they've tried going there. They'll be sober though so of no concern to WYP. Funny you should have said that, because with my location and some of the people I know are travelling for it I've just sent them that email. We're not prepared to accept the restrictions as it means changing our plans for the evening and some of us have accomodation booked so we're looking for a pub that can cater for 40-60 of us, depending on partners watching with us or going back to the hotels/B&Bs to tart themselves up for the night. There's other people I could have sent it to, but I thought with all their super duper "intelligence" it would be safest to just ask them.
Don't know why you're laughing, it's a serious request for information and I only made one misleading statement (I've counted Scotland as another country to make it seem like some members of the group are traveling from further than we really are). I've asked a policeman for some information in order to prevent us inadvertently causing trouble when all we want to do is start the night out peacefully watching the football. The reply (or lack of) will be interesting.
Where are they saying this? The website is still saying the ticketing details are to be confirmed and there's nothing what so ever on the Tiger Travel page. There's also nothing on the facebook or twitter pages. The bit I've put in bold suggests there's been something announced about it as that's more detailed than the previous reports were, so have they made the announcement and then withdrawn it again? Has something changed?
Their response seems to be to try to bribe us. Despite saying we were boycotting the game Ged McManus (anyone else had their emails passed up to him from that assistant in the OP on the main thread?) has replied to me to say that if I contact our ticket office they'll make special arrangements so we can get tickets. I've sent a suitable response.
The ****er ignored me. Which is rude since it was me who edited his e-mail into the OP as he'd already replied to me once about something else.
Have you checked your junk mail folder for replies? If they're passing them on to different people it could be there.
