QPR Chairman Tony Fernandes has spoken of his “lifelong commitment” to QPR following Saturday’s disappointing loss at Aston Villa.

Rangers find themselves seven points adrift of safety after the 3-2 loss at Villa Park, and while Fernandes admits he is “feeling miserable,” he has urged R’s fans to “show the world what type of club we are” and says they should be excited about the future.

In a personally written message that he has asked to be shown to “all our fans and staff,” Fernandes said:

“I sit here in Malaysia feeling miserable. I am down. The fact that I and my other shareholders are feeling so miserable just means we care.

“We should have won at the weekend and made it easier for ourselves, but we didn't. So what!

“There are still eight games to go. We beat Chelsea at Stamford Bridge and showed against Southampton and Sunderland that we are capable of putting wins together.

“And we have scored seven goals in our last three fixtures, so anything can happen.

“We fight and we fight. I am not despondent at all. QPR has come a long, long way from where we were, and the plan continues.

“We inherited a club that lacked so many things, and we are rebuilding every aspect. That's a huge challenge.

“In any business there will be hiccups. But this is not a one-year or two-year project. This is a lifelong commitment.

“The shareholders have that commitment. The journey ahead is so exciting.

“We need a new training ground, a new stadium, a more successful academy. That's so exciting. How can anyone feel down for too long?

“Forget Aston Villa. Focus on the future. The path in front of us is exciting.

“So come on, let's show the world NOW what type of club we are. We’re a club that believes, a club that has passion, and a club that never gives up.

    Kind regards
    Tony

    ---

Now that should shut up the tards from other clubs constantly coming on here claiming we will "do a pompey" if we go down.

Love this. I can cope with relegation if I know that Fernandes and co are going to stick with it. We would stand a great chance of promotion and the club would still be in a far better position than it has been for most of the last 15-20 years.

Would be nice to hear from Bhatia as well but I have no reason to doubt him either

    Hiya
Back from France, where I existed on text messages from mates keeping me up to date...boy was I depressed....but how good is this message

TF didn't need to do that, and because he did, indicates it came from his heart....I really do think he is in it for the long run.

And if he is....who knows maybe some of our "mercenaries" might be too.

    The only way is up

Briliant letter Flyer and agree just copy and paste that back to anyone who posts different: In fact ...

Paste it onto: Alan Shearer's forehead and Robbie Savage's Hairbrush

I will make an iron on transfer of the words I LOVE TONY for Sword's Y fronts ... however applying the design could create a toxic yellow piss & semen smelling cloud that would send many people to jump into the Irish sea

The sad thing is that there will still be some doubting TF's commitment to our team if we do go down. Personally i can't see there is any more he can do to convince the doubters.

Football chairmen do have a tendency to say one thing and do another. I'm glad Tony didn't feel the need to give Harry a vote of confidence. Harry doesn't deserve such a kiss of death. That said, I do think that QPR has genuinely got under the skin of Tony and his Malaysian shareholders. They have competitive spirits, are winners and don't walk away if they fail the first time - so long as, in this case, the fans are behind them. And it seems the fans are..almost to a man

    ...and woman. Great news.

Id fear for his safety if he walked away leaving us in the **** after hes told us hes staying. They might lie on other things but surely thats not something he can lie over.

This statement has really picked me up after a pretty depressing weekend football wise. Let's hope he means it....no reason to doubt him.

Great words (from Tony and all you folks including DT's hilarious one).

Whatever happens this year, the owners will have learnt more this season than many learn in 10.

If we stay up then it's full steam ahead. If the worst happens then we rebuild from the bottom up and will come back stronger.

Thanks for posting this Flyer. I love the man and I think that's exactly what we wanted to hear. Goldie's right, QPR has truly gotten under his skin and he is one of us now.

I don't think Tony will because he seems to be a man of integrity. But some businessmen might. I can think of a certain Lord, ex Spurs, for example, who would lose no sleep if failing to keep a promise to fans suited his commercial interests
