http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/blog/2013/mar/17/manager-sacking-reading-premier-league Made me take a glance at the Blue Square Pub League Premier Division, ponder, and yes, snigger a bit.
Good study eh....... shows that quite often the thinking of these owners may not be not as well researched as their own businesses. If they applied the same logic to their businesses thay may well be broke... but ah that is the obession of football..... the behaviour of abramovitch and others to their managers really is just unrealistic. I watched something on TV over the w/e which suggests a transfer window so to speak for managers much like we have for players...
I think that in Italy you cannot change managers at will, they have to do it at the end of the season. This doesn't stop them of course, they appoint someone on a temporary basis.
I would not bother to try to stop it - it would only create an industry of loophole avoiders. Any manager nowadays must know his days are numbered - and let's face it this cuts both ways as Brendan and Malky showed us. I think Reading have been stupid - if they get relegated he would be the best man to take them back up again
I don't defend them very often, but I think this year their manager really did have to go at that precise point in time. From their perspective of course. From mine, Buckle is the best LooTown manager I can remember. One Conference win in twelve
His comments might well have been the true reason for the points deductions, but I prefer them to fail on the pitch. Basking in their third relegation felt a bit like shooting Bambi. I did it anyway, but their failure to go up on merit has been much more fun.
Good point. To watch them drop was funny but to watch them struggling to get back into the league is even better.
