It's taken this long to summon up the courage to ask Thanks, shogs, you're a gent. There'll be no stopping me now...
Suddenly this prediction lark seems a load more serious. Will have to think about it properly this week...
Mostly cloudy for every day except Sunday, where there will be massive thunderstorms http://www.weather.com/weather/tenday/Sepang+MYXX0031:1:MY
It's enjoyably difficult to work out who is favourite, and so I've followed the crowd and gone with Alonso. If it rains however, I wouldn't be too shocked to see a Merc winning. Maybe that's wishful thinking on my part however....
What I like about sepang is its completely different to Melbourne. Different strategies and different strengths in teams will come into play
They have looked very strong so far in the wet so I wouldn't bet against it; whether they can sustain this strength over the length of a race is still open to doubt I think.
Would love Kimi to win again (stating the obvious) but I think Alonso will win this race. He loves it around here.
I'm going for Kimi on the basis that the race will be on a dry or drying track - the general race pace and tyre wear should be enough to keep them in with a shout as both Alonso and Vettle lost a decent amount of time in the last 4 or 5 laps at Melbourne. The safe bet would have been Alonso on the basis that it is likely to be mixed conditions and selfishly I hoping that the Red Bulls continue to struggle in these early races. I would prefer a pure wet race but worry that it will be red flagged at the earlist opportunity (I was there in 2009 when it happened!!!!!! Pisser!!!!) to hopefully bring the Mclaren into play, they looked OKish on the inters? I think the Mercs will be ok in the wet and wet to dry, but I fear that on a dry track the race pace and tyre wear just isnt there.
I want to change my vote to Massa but don't think I can Manny, can you write my name with permanent marker on your computer screen under where it says Massa on the poll please? so you remember.
I want to vote Kimi but I don't want Jinx him.. Everyones already pointed out that Alonso goes well here.. But I think the Bulls will (try) to sort out their race pace here... Then there's the weather.. which brings the Mercedes drivers into the equation. In sort, I ain't got a clue... so will assume that.. RB won't have sorted their race pace out by next week, tyre's won't work as well on the Lotus under normal conditions, therefore not having an advantage over the others, Alonso's race pace was good so he gets my vote.. We really need a Poll within a Poll, sort of "Here's my pick if Dry and here's my pick if Wet..."
