I puzzled today on the "What is " and "what might have been" scenario! I've taken stock of our 2 so called Strikers Ba and Torres and their contribution to where we are against where we should be! I am not going to tot them up but if I had a fiver for every decent opportunity they have had to score this season and missed I could have bought a very nice holiday! I then asked myself if the great Drogs had served another year with us where would we be having been served the same chances, and I am fairly sure we'd be chasing MU real close! Thank God we have the greatest attacking midfield in the Prem!
Neither are top class strikers, though I'm a bit puzzled by Ba. Thought he would have gotten at least one today. Oh well, maybe it's the lack of a consistent run in the team?
My view is that he does not have it at this level - I hope I am wrong though. He fails to cope with tight defences when teams playing against are just after a point and then he fails to score when he has acres of space. Useless. He looked frigging embarrassing today.
It was funny yesterday as we were watching the game I actually thought at one point perhaps they should bring Torres on cos Ba was so sodding useless as so many missed chances.
Difficult to say, but Ba is not exactly setting the world on fire. My feelings are that we play the wrong kind of football for a single striker. Fine when Drogs was the man, but neither Torres nor Ba can cut it, one out. Anyone think we should have a look at a different formation???? We seem to have plenty of players who know where the goal is, so why start with someone who doesn't ??
