Sunderland nick a lucky point, Fulham winning at Spuds and Wigan beating Toon, a sh*t day all round so far...
Yep....doesn't help with the "believing" mind set eh? Such bad referee decisions in these games. Never a sending off....never a Sunderland Penalty.....a Norwich pen denied. Now Halsey misses a dreadful tackle that has possibly broken a Newcastle player's leg!
Don't we want Wigan to beat Newcastle? Getting passed Reading and Wigan isn't going to save us, we need to overtake someone else. Villa, Southampton and Sunderland are the obvious targets, but just above them is Newcastle.
I don't think Newcastle are in any danger with their squad, Sunderland are in a real slump and I think West Ham have a really tough run-in, they would be realistic targets if we hit the winning run we're dreaming about. Fulham are next up and Spurs seem to have made them safe today, hopefully we can take advantage of that and we play Wigan a week before their semi-final which, again, may help us. Straws are being clutched at here...
Stranger things have happened at this time of the season. Hopefully you are right about Fulham and our desire overcomes their freedom. Have you got any spare straws?
Close my eyes and hope is my strategy from now on, think about the consequences when its all over. 24 points still out there though.......
Beat Reading away and Wigan, Stoke and Toon at home whilst picking up a couple of draws along the way and we can survive. I refuse to give up yet.
'Arry says we need 5 of the 8 remaining - any guesses which 5 they'll be (or I guess 4, with 3 draws)?
Below the belt Roller! I'll have you know that I have an extensive dossier that leads me to the conclusion - close my eyes and hope.
Ah, meticulous planning. My mind is being drawn to one of the scenes in "The Life of Brian", the one where they talk about forming a committee to discuss what to do, but don't actually do anything (or something like that).
I've just watched that with no sound, but was still laughing, cheers Col. Life of Brian must be the funniest film of all time. I didn't even look up for Newcastle's equaliser.
