I was planning on bumping this on 7.4.13 but I feel we all need alittle encouragement. So far I've been wrong twice. Once in our favour -Southampton and once against - yesterday. That means we are one point off my target that might mean we make it by the skin of our teeth again. Look at the games where I've allowed draw, especially Fulham, Stoke and Reading. The way we played yesterday, perhaps dare I say with Green in goal, are there not points to be made up there? I will bump again on 7.4.13. It really is not over quite yet but I am sorry if you genuinely feel that it is all false hope. That is not, and never would, be my intention.
Key to our chances is what Wigan do with their two games in hand, I think their distraction of the FA Cup could be to our advantage meaning we may only have to target one of the seemingly 'safe' clubs. One of those 'safe' clubs will nosedive, we have to take advantage...
In the cold light of day Not much has changed from yesterday. We can still do it but need another point or two somewhere. Villa beat us, the blow is in them getting 3 points, but they still have to go the distance as do Saints. COYRSsssss!!!!!
Looking at the positives (or clutching at straws) , I think you've missed out the Everton away game. So that's another 3 points on the total
Sorry to bear bad news lads but the reality is now this: If one of either yourselves or Reading are to escape the drop then the points required for that scenario is actually more than if you are both included in the relegation three. The reason for this is that one of the teams on 30 or 31 points will .have to take 18th place. Harry has worked this out and it is why he is now saying you need five wins. With his grasp of maths I really have no idea how his tax affairs got in such a mess.
Onwards lads great comments... For those who can't face a minor blip then wimp off I say! The rest of the season is looking fine to me. If you have a spare 20 straw grabbing minutes separate out other fixtures of the other clubs involved and by that i mean from Fulham down ... we are playing alright and beginning to gain some momentum so why some have given up or remain silent is beyond me ... I don't stand with those types like on here we go until the end and only then we can say we supported our club ... Had to reel it in yesterday out of hurt and respect to the brothers but anyone who spouts of that rubbish is weak IMO
Agree re momentum - we scored 2 goals and came back from 2:1 down. Would have been ok with draw but that little bit of luck has eluded us all season.
4 wins & 2 draws would give us 37 points, make one of those draws a win and that's 39...stiil allows for 2 defeats. It is still very do-able......
It is. Win at Reading, win at home v Wigan, Newcastle and Stoke. Pick up a couple of draws in other games. We're not out of this yet!!
If we want it more than Arsenal, we will beat them at LR. Liverpool and Everton's season could well be over by the time we go up there. It's in our hands........ish.
Absolutely mate, I'm completely with you. It is also high time we won at The Cottage. Our supporters will easily out sing Fulham, it will be like another home match.
That's the spirit, mate. Possibly down to the wire with us needing an away win at Anfield of all places and our nerves in shreds. Could have done with Wigan losing today.
Can't see the point in giving it up. Plough on and hope!! Some terrible refereeing this weekend....all gone against us unfortunately.
Just did predictor and we came out on 41 pts in 12th !!! Sunderland , villa and reading going down . Sunderland on 37 pts . All those three have much tougher games than us . COME ON YOU RRRR'S
Well done mate! I agree our run in is better but 41? I struggle to see that. I am firmly in the 'we can still do it' but this w/e did erode that a little. It simply depends on whether we can reproduce last year's end of season form. The team is vastly improved and probably still improving too. Let's give it our best shot!
