I'll still go QPR, Reading, Villa.

Villa got some good results but they have to consolidate upon them now.

Wigan always seem to have something in the tank late on.

Wouldn't surprise me if Wigan/QPR/Reading got cut adrift here and just got left behind, but I think there's one twist left.

However, I think Saints will be just fine. Been confident for months and nothing has changed my mind.

Liverpool were off key because they were made to be off key. If we hadn't played so well miraculously Liverpool would played a lot better.

    I know, it's a radical thought. ;)

Think QPR and Reading are now doomed. Both need to win at least 5 games from 8 and I can't see that happening. Wigan need a home win today to stay in touch. Think they will be the third team unless Sunderland self implode.

I think the bottom three will remain as they are.

Games in hand are one thing but you have to win them. At the top of the table they seem to be a bit more of a benifit as teams are generally in good form and can continue that momentum on the pitch and mentally as well. At the other end however the gap has grown and when your not in good form it obviously makes it harder and again in the head. Squad size also comes into it with a fixture backlog and again its the teams at the top who will have the squad to cope.

Odds have now been slashed on QPR bringing them down to Reading's level. QPR were unlucky yesterday and are playing better, but they have no room to manouevre. Saints are now on 6s having been raised from 3 prior to the Liverpool game.

By the way, my son won £90 on a bet yesterday with Morgan as first scorer.

Two more big games today. Wigan will be under huge pressure should they lose to Newcastle. And that result would basically see Sunderland safe, should they go and beat Norwich.

But roughly reverse those results around, and Sunderland fans will be sweating buckets given their next four fixtures.

Yes looking at the fixtures Sunderland don't have a good run in. They need the points today very badly.

If Sunderland lose they will be in a bad way. Can see them dropping lower if they do lose to Norwich.

Patrick Barclay on Sunday Supplement: 'I sure don't want Southampton to go down. Wow do they play good football. Play with eight forwards'.

I seriously don't think Villa will go down. They are good enough to be in this league, especially as they are adding goals to their game. The bottom three will be the same as now, although I think Sunderland's run in is tough, and if we beat them away I think they will swap places with Wigan permanently.

I previously disliked them purely on the grounds that they wore red/white stripes which confused me. Haven't cared this year.

I hadn't appreciated the fixtures that Sunderland had remained to play. Of the reamining matches, I would have to say that I think the only games they have a chance of getting points are against Saints and Stoke. If we play like we can and grab a win up at the Stadium of Light, you could almost see them finishing on three more points than they have already.

I think they'll be lucky to get three more points to be honest! They look like they could be in real trouble.

Don't like to wish trouble on other teams, but I do. I want us safe for next year, because I'm really excited about what MP can do after a preseason and a few buys.

Our fate is completely in our own hands now, we shouldn't have to worry about what anyone else does. 3 more wins from eight games and we're home and hosed, and if we keep playing the way we have been we'll be safe before the end of April. Although there's still a little voice in my ear that says we'll need something from Stoke on May 19th. I'm ignoring that voice though, what's the point of beating Liverpool if your confidence doesn't get a huge boost?

Sunderland were truly abysmal today.Against ten men for most of the game, either given a dodgy penalty or got away with one and they could not really pull the skin off a rice pudding. No wonder QPR beat them, puts that game in perspective.
