Big question but I think it is one worth asking.

Joe Allen has had a tough season. But he often gets in the team ahead of other more in form players. In the last few games he has got to start ahead of Henderson despite Henderson being better in every aspect.

We all know Rodgers has a big soft spot for Allen and rates him highly. But at times I feel it can course a weak spot in the team when he gets in ahead of players like Henderson. Allen even gets a run of games when injured and needing surgery. Allen's favoritism could also dent squad morale.

    Is some thing wrong here?

Would Brendan Rodgers be better with out Joe Allen?

We would all be better off without Allen.

He is a squad player at best and only then as an attacking midfielder he is certainly not a defensive midfielder as he is to small.

    Who's Out Allen?

    Joe Allen? :)

Nah, have given this some thought, the guy needs to take a step back like Sterling regardless of his fee. His confidence is shot, he can get better, plenty of protein and hitting the gym and learning from his mistakes.

I think Brendan playing him on this form is having the opposite effect Brendan wants tbh

Agreed with BBF. It does annoy me however when BR drops other players who are off form but persists in playing Allen where possible, it must be damaging his development.

The thing with players like Allen and Henderson is they have a good attitude to work hard, much like Lucas. Henderson has come on leaps and bounds. Allen has a lot of work to do and isn't anywhere near a starting place at the moment.

Let him have his surgery then reintroduce him slowly so he can get some confidence and form.

Good stuff, hate to see the guy slated and slated, trying is not his problem and someone of lesser Sisu would want to be anywhere but on the pitch on his form, could feign injury or illness but no, he gets out there even though he ain't been playing well and puts himself right into the mix, we compliment players for taking penalties after missing one, Allen's Sisu is on another level<ok>

Playing Allen, injured or not, in the role he played yesterday seems like an amateur error to me.

Allen is not an attackind midfielder.

Here are his PL attacking stats spread over 27 games (21 starts).

    Unsuccessful Crosses 3
    Successful Crosses (%) 0%
    Assists 0

His goal and assists 0% will probably be the same after that many games.
