No need to be like that lads, a couple have been a bit disrespectful to our club, but overall most have just been disappointed in their own sides effort and a few have been very complimentary of us. You don't expect to come onto a football team's forum after they've just lost and see a unanimous discussion about how brilliant the team they just played were do you? They're obviously going to be talking about their own team.
You're right fans often congregate on message boards to discuss how good the opposition were. This is inane, the people who come here to discuss the match are Liverpool fans, as such we are obviously going to be disappointed in the performance of our team and certain players after a performance like that. We were outplayed, we were obviously second best, do we have to prefix every criticism of our own performance with 'Southampton were really good tho!!'?
Listen pal, you won the game and you deserved to mostly because we were so poor. Don't get carried away by thinking you are a better side because you aren't. You are a good Championship side and you got lucky.
Suppose we fluked a win against City too 3-1 a couple of weeks ago? Oh wait, no we didn't. We played you both off the park. Everton fluked a draw when we dominated and Spurs scraped a 2-1 win. United was an even match, they were slightly better and we conceded right at the death. Arsenal 1-1 we were slightly better but it was a game of few chances. And all these teams are above you in the league! Now shut up and **** off!
Look where you team is and just how quickly you can slip back into the relegation dog-fight. Then tell me you are a wonderful team. That's nothing to do with Liverpool its just a factual evaluation of your side.
You were very good today, particularly off the ball in the first half and looked threatening going forward (although most teams have against us this season). You've obviously had some good results this season against some strong sides. That said you can't be saying that Southampton are a better side with regards to the season as a whole? We're not great, that's why we're 7th, but you are 14 points behind us in 15th. There's a reason for that. Defensively you're not great and you struggle at times against more physical sides. All in all there are a lot of reasons for Southampton fans to be optimistic but you're not quite there yet. And neither are we.

What stupid statement? That we were the better side? That is just an undeniable truth, whether you want to attribute that to us being particularly good or you being particularly bad is irrelevant. I think you need to figure out the difference between someone saying that they were the better side and someone saying that they are a better side. We were unequivocally the better side, you are obviously a better side. One implies being the better side in a game, the other is saying that you are a better side overall. RickieRickie said that we were 'the better side', you replied saying 'don't get carried away thinking you are a better side because you aren't. You then went on to call us a Championship side. So who's making stupid statements exactly?
I do believe that you are very good Championship side. You played well today and deserved your win. In the context of the season as a whole and in comparison with the quality that exists in other Premiership sides I believe that you are severely lacking. Now that's my opinion and as I am posting on a Liverpool thread on the Liverpool board I have the right to voice it without reference to visiting supporters.. If you don't like that opinion then either respond or go away. Therefore I actually believe that it is you who is making stupid comments. You may well avoid relegation this year but I strongly doubt that Southampton's tenure in the Premiership will be too long.
