Don't think there is any truth in the Arsenal rumour, but, if it's true, it suggests that Gaston is well regarded.
Yeah, sell them off. Don't keep the best players. That way we can stay cannon fodder for the best teams.
Nicola develops a tic when he's told Arsene is on the phone. Probably doesn't even take his calls any more.
Ramirez is a luxurory player in a team like Saints. I think he is skilled and has bags of ability yet everytime I've seen him I can't help feeling disappointed. Compared to Pucnheon or Lallana he seemed amazingly over-priced but , as was commented above, I think he would easily fit in to the current Arsenal asperations. Ramierz is just the kind of player that Wenger likes and their fans complain about because , as good as he is, Ramierz will not take Arsenal to the kind of level they want to be playing at. If Saints are relegated, I can see him being the first out of the door but I would have to admit I wouldn't be disappointed if he was released. He was a bizarre purchase and another pkayer you wonder how much involvement Adkins had in acquiring. For me, Ramirez was a waste of money as he isn't what we really need. I would sooner we bought a couple of hard-working English players and someone like the great Jimmy Case who could get his feet stick in and play some creative football would have been more my choice! Shame he wasn't thrity years younger!
My 7 year old jumped on my back when JayRod scored and I lost my balance with both of us falling onto the wife None too pleased. Will have to buy her some new shoes. lol. I think Lallana showed today what Gaston was supposed to be doing. He was in Gaston's spot throughout the game and between him, JayRod and Morgan for MOTM.
Ramirez and Lallana were both excellent today. They were both doing exactly what they should have been doing... tearing Liverpool's defense to shreds.
Contrary to one or two opinions above, Gaston Ramirez is EXACTLY what Saints need in the side. If Saints are to progress up the table and stay there they need to be attracting excellent players, or at least players with a reputation that makes football people sit up and take notice. Yes, Lallana, Puncheon, and the like are excellent players and are way better value for Saints, at present, and may be always the case, but sadly star players don't look at them and think they'd like to be at Saints too. Ramirez will make it easier for Saints to bring in better players to the club because of his profile. Plus, he's going to improve enormously, and that'll be even better all round. Remember..? Lawrenson said... Ramirez will not be going to Southampton. He'll never be quite sure to utter those words again, and that's a change in the reputation of SFC. Although it pails into insignificance, it's similar in its importance to when Kevin Keegan came to Saints. Attitudes to SFC will change as a result of Ramirez at the club. Just wait and see.
Agreed. He was very good today and the substitution was clearly tactical. His best performances seem to be against the top teams.
People see his price tag and expect him to be man of the match every game, what they need to realise is, they are stupid.
Gaston is the new Puncheon. Chap behind me kept saying he was useless and should be subbed. I don't know what game he was watching.
