BR got more complacent than the bloody players, gave a press conference reminiscent of his 2nd place bollocks. Allen should have never played, especially if he's carrying ****ing injury. Terrible performance. There was no desire in any player whatsoever.

This should have been a win by all means, we were in such good form, how the **** did we look so ordinary against SOUTHAMPTON! of all teams. Especially after a moral boosting win against the Spuds.

Because we're nowhere near the worst team in the league..

Well said Gez. I thought most of the team were lazy apart from Suarez. Gerrard looked off the pace a little as well (as did our midfield).

Result was flattering to us, but the performance is what hurts the most. Rodgers should have known better - poor tactics/personnel

Plays well for 3 months, seems to have the inside left role, tucking in, letting Enrique overlap, helping the midfield doing Stevies running, nailed to a tee.

You could argue after Suarez our best, most consistant performer between December and the end of February

    And hes dropped,when playing well.

Johnson, Agger, Skrtel, Allen and Rodgers all lost the game for us.

    Woeful choice of formation
Allen looked in considerable pain from the start, looked even more lightweight than normal
Skrtel justifying exactly why he hasn't been able to get a game. Lacks game intelligence and is somehow unable to win a header without fouling
Agger was appalling and has been for some time.
Johnson looked disinterested throughout the whole game and he has done over the last few months in my opinion. Get the feeling he's off in the summer.

    The joys of supporting Liverpool.

TBF they tore united's midfield to shreds too but of course United got a few goals at the end as they tried to defend a lead, as they've got that in the locker. They can play but are not brilliant at the back, we played right into their hands

I'm sure we'll discuss our shortcomings in depth in the coming days but a lot of credit has to go to Southampton.

We were pretty poor but Southampton looked very good and fully deserved the three points.

    Outworked,outthought,outfought,and outplayed!!

Very, very impressed by the Saints workrate and organisation.
Great link-ups and support for each other. 3-1 was kind to us.

They will be staying up,no doubt about that.

Could have been 6 but you can't blame us for being unhappy with our own for that performance!<ok>

Hi Liverpool fans, I know you get frustrated with Rodgers but it was the same with Hodgson and Daglish, you will have to give someone a decent run and to be honest until today you had been playing quite well.

    Keep faith and good luck.

You lost because Brendan Rodgers has the same mentality as you. HAve some respect as most of the rest of this board has had.

I said last night that if we get to 2-0 we will win and was right. I also said (on our board's thread) that Gerrard's long diagonal balls to the left would be key and Rodriguez, Schneiderlin and Cork made sure he had no time. We were a little lucky TBH with the linesman in the first half but we should have been 3 or 4 up ourselves. That is our problem not that 'we don't deserve to be in this league' but because we miss too many chances in combination with a poor defense.

Liverpool could do with buying the Saints front 6 and then buying a new defense. You would be back to the CL then.

Anyway, cheers for the honest opinions all of the others. Respect needs to be learned by Carroll'spony tail.

    ^ ****ING THIS.

Can't understand that one at all. Now Allen's injury has been announced, BR could have used that as his excuse to drop him. Yet he persists with an injured Allen, while Henderson (who has been one of our best players of late) doesn't even get a look in!!!

  15. Cheers for the input pal.

I can't speak for all Liverpool fans but it's not like it was with Hodgson. Dalglish's reign was similar and us fans was willing to give him time, its no different with Rodgers. It is just frustrating on days like today when Brendan as made glaringly obvious mistakes that he should not be making.

Yeah I don't think anyone here is calling for Rodger's head, just frustrated with some poor decisions. Changing the manager isn't going to help anyway, this squad of players just isn't good enough compared with the top four or five teams in the league.

The problem is he's abandoned the three man midfield so he can play Suarez off of Sturridge and still have Coutinho and Downing on either wing. Then we're left with Lucas(or an injured Allen which was a disaster) trying to hold down the entire midfield while Gerrard does his thing.
