My heart for that whole second half ached. I can't take the nerves! I much preferred the pressure of the last two seasons at the top of the table to this relegation malarky. I'd forgotten how stressful it all is. What a performance. I think that Liverpool fan is correct, 3-1 did flatter liverpool. We could have had plenty more goals to be honest.
Great performance and great result. Loved Boruc giving Suarez a wink before he got booked, I've grown to admire Suarez in spite of his antics, but I still like to see him having an off-day occasionally, especially against us! It was an excellent team performance from us. Shaw had a better game, got forward really well and helped us relieve the pressure a few times, Lallana had his best game of the season (take note Roy Hodgson), Cork was omnipresent in midfield again, but Schneiderlin was man of the match for me. Helped keep Gerrard and co quiet and also got forward really well, and is showing the strikers how to finish! And how good does that table look now!
Wigan's game tomorrow is huuuuuuuuge. If Reading wins today, and Newcastle wins tomorrow, we're effectively (thanks to the massive GD advantage) eight points up with eight to go.
Enjoyed that. Looked pretty solid, and always felt that we could get that goal on the break, albeit a slighty surprising one from Jay rod. Well done Poche and the lads.
If we can do it against Liverpool than why not against Chelsea! We have always been strong towards the end of the season in the last few years
Just got in. How did it go, Pepys..? I haven't been able to follow the match at all and have come straight here, and haven't looked at so much as a syllable of words. Someone tell me how it went..? For some reason I can't look..!
Except last season! But yeah, really really nice to reach that 30 point mark now +1. Thanks to all the Liverpool fans that have come over here to praise us so soon after the game. Fair play! Whats the bet that we beat Chelsea, Spurs and Swansea and fail to beat Reading, West Ham, West Brom, Sunderland and Stoke.
I feel Rodgers cost us the game with his team selection today but fair play to you guys, you can only play what is in front of you and you got a deserved three points. Well played Southampton and good luck for the reminder of the season
Thanks, but regards to Rodgers team selection, the only error I could see was playing Allen instead of Lucas. You can't blame 1 poor selection on a loss. You were beaten by the better team on the day.
You're going to want to see this one on MotD. It's been an interesting day when you put three past one of the better defenses in the league and come away feeling like your finishing let you down a tad.
