I'm not having a go at Johnson, especially when there are others playing worse, its just always having to beat a man that annoys me. Sturridge would get more out of early crosses, he's not going to beat many CB's in the air, same with Suarez, Downing and Coutinho!
Yeah but Brendan Rodgers is under some illusion that Allen is just as good as any player, in any position. I wouldn't be surprised if he plays him up front if Suarez/Sturridge get injured.
The team was set out pants. We are the fkn away team. But there is no accounting for the pathetic performances of 7 players out of 11
He can't do that, can he?! He must have seen how awful we were in the first half (Wasn't that hard to notice...) and he must knows that things need changing at half-time. Not in the 55th, 60th or 65th minute. At half-time.
We've been completely over run in midfield. Allen looks lost, I'd be mad to see him come in the 2nd half.
As I said, it wouldn't surprise me. Not having a go at Rodgers here, he likes to show loyalty to certain players, but it will annoy me if he doesn't change it at half time, especially since he hooked Suso after just half an hour before!
To drop Carragher (the team's voice) and Lucas (the ONLY defensive minded midfielder we have) after talking about winning the next four games is just plain crazy! If we don't turn this around then Brendan is in for some **** for the next couple of weeks (international break)
I think it's more because of a 2 man midfield with no proper DM rather than Allen, he was always going to fall in this formation, even Gerrard is off the pace, not to mention that he's injured We all know what needs to be done, but BR could see it differently, we just need to see how the second half plays out. We're capable of scoring 2 more.
And WTF is wrong with Johnson, he's been utter **** last couple of matches, But this has got to be one of his worst so far. I wouldn't even mind if Wisdom gets a chance in 2nd half, alt east he defends well.
I will get at Rodgers if Allen comes out in 2nd half G! There can't be any justification I can think of for playing a player out of form & stated injured instead of the best DM at your club. That's why I wondered if Lucas had issues however minor this week?

Real test for us here: 2nd half will show alot about Brendans man and tactical management. Will also show what our players are all about, thanks to the Coutinho goal we have a chance, but im not confident we are going to put in the kind of performance 2nd half that will get us a result. Too many of the players look bereft of confidence and like they dont want it as much as the Southampton players. Guess it was just us fans and not the players who thought that after recent results we could push for a European place.
