MON now saying danny graham is'nt fit cos he has'nt played many games,

meanwhile Wenger reckons he might've burnt wilshere out cos he's played 5 games in a month.

What mugs they take us for............................just another page from the football managers book of excuses.

Next home game if half the players "aren't really fit", or are "burnt out", can I have a discount please ?

    Aye, it makes you wonder.
I doesn't wash with me anymore. I mean we sign some ****er on loan who we knew wasn't fit & a bloke from Gateshead who isn't fit because he couldn't get in the Swansea side.
As for Wilshire, he's supposed to be a physically fit athlete ffs. When we were kids at school we were playing four games a week & still kicking the ball around the local park afterwards.

Some of them would rather compete with each other on their xboxes these days. Either that or rush off to Nando's.

This has bugged me for years they are supposed to be pro athletes and should be fit enough and professional enough to keep themselves fit and healthy even if they aren't playing.
Any other team buys players and they go straight into the team (more or less) we buy players and they need to settle or aren't fit enough. These are for the most part PL players who can know us well enough to play against us no problem, yet struggle to play with us due to one thing or another. Family problems yes no problem with that but, fitness wise no they should be fit.

Along with Safc83 I made a comment about this on 20/1/2013 that signings had been made and sat on the bench because they weren't match fit.
It would appear that our comments were spot on. However a regular poster on this forum totally disagreed and suggested we give our heads a shake.
Well i wait in anticipation for that person to make his apologies, but wont hold my breath.

Football deserves better role models. I recall feeling disheartened with Gyan, who wasn't fit enough when we bought him and returned half-fit after the Summer break before he emigrated to Middle East oblivion. Sess too, I'm afraid to say it -may be a contender for Player of the Season, but he didn't return fully fit at the start of it, I wouldn't go as far to say it boils my p!ss, but it certainly get me a bit steamy down there at times <annoyed>.

Check out the schedules of Nba and Major League baseball 82 and 162 game seasons respectively, and that's before the playoffs. I know its a different sport but footballers have no excuse, they train a few hours a day 4 or 5 times a week then are home by dinner time then they have a game that lasts a few hours on a weekend. Poor bastards.

I have always said this about this "match fitness" !
    It's all bullshit.
The only time it could be half way believable is a player coming back from injury.

FFS when I was younger, playing on a Sunday after a night on the piss, totally hungover after clubbing
I used to run my heart out for 90 minutes, leaving the pitch exhausted. Odd times played two games one day!
I was never the best footballer or fittest but I could put a shift in and a tackle.
Oh and had a couple of tabs and a can of Special Brew at half time.
I even had a tab during a match once. hahahaha

    Half time orange???????
    Hahaha
We were out in the open like the rest of the teams, praying for the second half to start as we were usually standing about freezing covered in mud and rain lashing down. :p
IF I was lucky the lass I was going out with at the time, would turn up with a flask of coffee.

Working on the buildings at the time talc, the most expensive tools I bought was good flasks. :p
And I went through a lot of them even the expensive "unbreakable" ones. :)

Soft sods these days wont work if their is a draft, without a personal heater.
