I've always hated Southampton away, even back at the dell. Have to say though, for the first time in a few years, I reckon we have the potential to beat anyone at the moment. As long as we are not wasteful in front of goal and don't go all kamikaze at the back, we should be OK today.
Actually looking back at my last post, what a load of bollocks, may as well have said if we score more than them, we will win! I feel quite the fool.
Bit harsh on yourself there pal Iagree with your points but unfortunately we tend to lose when we feel this confident
What with Everton winning means we really need to win this game to stay above them, especially as they still have a game in hand. With Arsenal going to Swansea where they always seem to struggle, could end up in 5th by the end of the day. Saints have been in poor form recently but they did beat City 3-1 at home a few weeks ago. If we play in a similar way that we have dnoe in the last few weeks then should be win this game, especially with Sturridge, Suarez, Coutinho, Downing & Gerrard all hitting good form attacking wise. Just need to be weary of Lambert in the air from crosses as could cause some problems there
Jordan Ibe on the bench. Good experience for him. Jones, Johnson, Enrique, Agger, Skrtel, Allen, Gerrard, Downing, Coutinho, Sturridge, Suarez. No Lucas. Interesting.
Just edited my post. Jones starting. Skrtel in place of injured Carragher. Allen in midfield instead of Lucas. Rest of it the same.
Lucas has played a lot since he came back from injury so probably needed a rest. Allen played well when he came on against Spurs, albeit only for 15 mins or so. Not sure what Henderson has done to warrant being dropped so much now though,
Liverpool team to face Southampton. Jones; Johnson, Skrtel, Agger, Enrique; Allen, Gerrard; Downing, Suarez, Coutinho; Sturridge. SUBS: Gulacsi, Wisdom, Lucas, Henderson, Shelvey, Suso & Ibe. - Beaten to it by just about everyone!
Cheers, Lucas must have a niggle. Hopefully Allen will show his recent form. Skrtel needs to stake a claim for his starting spot.
his distribution was a bit off. Think he needs a break after playing so many games ince he came back from injury
Southampton team to face Liverpool. Boruc; Clyne, Yoshida, Hooiveld, Shaw; Schneiderlin, Cork; Lallana, RamÃrez, Rodriguez; Lambert. SUBS: K. Davis, Fonte, Forren, S. Davis, Ward-Prowse, Guly & Puncheon.
I suspect it'll be a 4-4-2 formation? -------------Jones------------- Johnson--Skrtel--Agger--Enrique --------Allen-----Gerrard-------- Downing----------------Coutinho --------Suarez--Sturridge-------
