I know, I was re-emphasizing the earlier point. Does that mean he's left the club or just not involved with the group?
I cannot agree with ^^^^^ this part more. The Police are very problamatic in how they assess and Police the KC. In other words it is very much OTT or ad hock. Risk assessment my backside. They just want an easy life. Nick Thompson, SMC and fans should crank up the pressure on the boys in blue for a start. The north stand can be easily segregated if a ilttle thought and planning is used. ffs. I did laugh at the bit about Steve Bruce and the boys and they would be pissed off if a fans boycott of the Udders game happened. What about all the fans WHO ARE NOW PISSED OFF at having to miss the game due to the draconian actions of WYP. FFS If OLM is on this panel then maybe a seperate thread for suggestions from 606 posters should be added as a sticky. The panel is a step in the right direction but many miles need to be travelled until the fans start getting a fair shake.
Could not agree more with you. John, ive been saying that for years It happens in the states all the time. The fact that its so easy and simple to implement is the reason why it does not happen here. Nobody at the club has had that kind of forthought or desire to do things simple and easy. Nevermind to try and make alot of money. Maybe things will change in the future......
Well let's hope this new approach by the club to try an get a better experience for both home and away fans bring positive changes.
Because boycotting the game will achieve nothing. Sky will not focus on the empty seats. There wouldn't be many empty seats anyhow because I can guarantee a couple of hundred will always go regardless of any protests. Because 3 points could make the difference between promotion and playoffs. Because the only way this matter will be resolved is via political means. Because the only thing that will be affected by a boycott would be OUR team. I completely get the anger at the way we have to pick tickets up and the whole bubble thing. At one stage I was having to drive a frigging long way east to get my tickets to go back, and getting them at a service station is still frigging annoying. Im really not happy about having to leave my car there. I'm impressed at some of the alleged support from other teams, but honestly, if this had been say Millwall and Leeds, would ANY of you have been arsed about it? Or even Leicester and Forest? No, you would not. We're not the first to have this ****e thrust on us, but we sure as **** didnt care then. We can huff and puff and boycott this game, and organise marches, but realistically, the day after this game, noone will give a ****. If we're promoted, we won't even be able to raise it with the FL ffs. It will just die away and we'll move on. The only way any changes will be made will be via politicians and police forces and commissioners doing something. I wonder how many people ranting about all this actually bother to vote in a general election too. If you still feel strongly about this, start contacting your local representatives, it's what they get paid for. I do like todays march, and it would be nice to see that before every game, home and away, that sort of action will affect political decision making because it starts making it an issue, especially with the media reporting it. Be warned though, it will take just ONE ****wit screaming abuse at a copper and being arrested for breach of the peace, or being pissed and fighting etc etc and we are all going to look like total twats. Especially the ones who say *but they started it*.
Thanks for the link OLM, some proper forward thinking City now on the committee, and who will miss George Hudson's invisible media management? Hearing good things about Nick Thompson, sounds like a breath of fresh air and what we'll need as we expand and prosper in the prem next year.
George actually left yesterday, sadly. Top man! Or it may be next Friday, I cannot remember which week it was since I last spoke to him!
So our ground capacity has been slashed by us not being able to use the North Stand by not allowing the NW corner to be filled with noisy kids, like before, When the match attendance is announced as being around 17k it is being kept artificially low so that large numbers of stewards can stretch out while marshalling about 200 away supporters. At least this afternoon they'll have to bunch up a bit to make room for the Forest fans. What is the capacity of the KC (not including the North Stand)?
One of the reasons the club want a representative on the Safety Advisory Group, is to try and change the ridiculous restrictions placed on us. Instead of just giving the North Stand to Forest, the police insisted that 300 seats at either end were left empty. 600 empty seats, for absolutely no good reason. They also don't want any home fans in the North Stand, they'll only allow kids at one end, in a game they consider to be very low risk. It's a bloody farce.
NT didn't really say he wanted goal music. In fact I told him only a few days before that all came out that goal music and drums were strictly off the agenda and he took note of that, then mentioned something about how some like it and some don't on the radio and everyone took that as him wanting it. What does everyone think about the idea Tickler suggested about having a sticky for everyone to put forward their ideas to OLM and I for upcoming FLAG meetings?
Everyone's happy then! I'm not sure, could it work better if you just reminded everyone that the meetings coming up and that any issues could be directed to you or OLM, rather than having a sticky that just sits there and gets forgotten about?
If questions are posted, could I suggest that the responses are clearly posted with any expected time-scales for action as well as the general minutes? A criticism of the FlC was the lack of clear feedback.
So the SAG has never had any representitve from the club ? I find that amazing but it does explain a few things
Yeah that makes sense. Not sure how to do it though. As Goochie says, a sticky thread not being used could clutter the board a bit, but if it's just done by PMs then that comes down to me and OLM deciding what is and isn't valid enough to raise at a meeting and then we're not really representing anyone are we? If it's all discussed openly on the forum we can all agree on what should be raised and then we're actually representing the board properly. So I'm still thinking the sticky might be best really.
