Inter Milan circling around QPR talent like an impatient vulture

This week's edition of Le10 Sport in France has a little bit of worrying news for QPR fans going under the headline 'L'INTER MILAN A L'AFFUT POUR REMY' which translates to 'Inter Milan on the look-out for Remy'.

They say the Serie A side are already circling around Loic Remy and watching him, so that if the club are relegated at the end of the season they will be ready to swoop in and make a move for the Frenchman. Remy apparently has a clause in his contract which enables him to leave if the side go down, also reported by Goal this week, and that seems to be an open secret - so much so that Inter Milan are not the only Italian team keeping an eye on the situation.

Napoli, who were high-flying but have now hit a bit of turbulence, are also named as being interested and they'd be looking at the player as a replacement for Edinson Cavani should he go in the summer. The Uruguayan hasn't a scored a goal in his last eight games and Napoli are probably getting a little keener to sell the 26 year old, just in case he starts to lose some of his market value.

That relegation could get Remy a transfer to one of the big Italian sides does seem a bit perverse, a personal reward after a collective failure. The signing of players simply to avoid relegation is a necessity but if it doesn't work then it can turn ugly.

Remy is on wages at QPR that even the two teams mentioned wouldn't be keen on matching, but it's the World Cup next year and Didier Deschamps isn't going to pick a striker playing in the Championship. Remy may lose money on wages if he leaves but his commercial deal value will plummet with a drop in division and loss of international career.

Look i honestly think we will be able to escape relegation, and if thats the case and remy still wants to leave i think we would be able to obtain a higher price than we bought him for. I would obviously prefer he stay though!

This was always the point with signing Remy. If we stay up we are quids in with the new TV deal. If we drop down then we can offload him for almost as much/same/more than we paid for him. The same goes for Samba.

Even if we have to sell them at a bit of a loss then it has been a gamble worth taking.

It has not been a £20m gamble as most of the pundits would have you believe.

If we stay up then who knows what they will want to do ... and what we will allow them to do!

He'd be a mug to go if we stay up, he's No.1 here and has now got back in the French squad. In a better R's team next season he could be a 20 goal a season player and cement his World Cup place...

Let's just see what happens eh?

Meantime, hope we're eyeing up a few potential quality replacements.

Journos still doing "revelations" about the release clauses that were public from the start then?

It's very probable that the club wants the world to know he's available if we go down - it saves trying to find a buyer if the worst happens - we've already put him in the shop window.

If players do well they move to bigger clubs - that's just football.

We bought Remy to suit our short term goals and he chose us for the same reason. I hope it carries on into the longer term but don't expect it.

(Welcome HIMB by the way :) )

This is my concern also. It all depends on whether HR is to be believed when he says he has no plans to go anywhere else even if we are relegated. What we need is a manager who has an eye on both possible futures as well as going about the business of keeping us up. As we have seen so often building a team suitable for your circumstances is not an overnight job and plans need to be in hand now for both PL and Championship football.

I don't want to sound like an ITK because I'm not but one of the SKY pundits has said off the record that if we go down, Harry's of to West Ham!

its not worrying news at all. if we go down, we lose a high payed and valuable asset. Exactly what the board said would happen as to not cripple the club
