look, I'm not getting any younger here - I just wanna see my name in the top ten...even is it's just for a fleeting moment....
Your fleeting moment has unfortunately gone with the age declaration of more posters. You have currently slipped to No.12!
A few goals as well 59 in all 65-66 season would be nice now 109 total for the season Chilton 31 Wagstaff 29, Houghton 27, I Butler 15, Henderson 14,
never be repeated..can't believe that season. We'd need over 6 goals per game in the remaining 9 this season. I'll take 27 right now ?
My husband comments... " The only other league season we came close was in 1932/33. Scored 100 goals in 4 fewer matches. Again Division 3 Champions but with a record that is unequalled today- unbeaten at home over the full league season.
Just logged in for first time in over a week. (I've been working in North Queensland. Pretty hot up there but ironically not as hot as Melbourne where I live and all sorts of records are being broken for consecutive days over 30 C. But it's the humidity in Queensland that wears you down). Anyway thought I'd add my weight to the old blokes list - 55.
Must have been some team. If only we could ever do that again...highly improbable, especially if we're on telly more often in the future !
Funny thing canada - I suspect I may eat a little less in this kind of weather and there's certainly the potential for weight loss due to perspiration, but it's vitally important to maintain fluid intake, hence much larger volumes of amber nectar!
Can believe the amber nectar comment mate - my nephew lives in Melbourne & he certainly puts away a few slabs a week. Old 'Ull habits die hard...
