It's probably wrong of me to think this way, but, there's just not the same 'Buzz' walking to the ground now as there was in the 70's. You were always wary of opposing fans and with some visiting supporters were basically risking your life. I think it was because there was pretty much no restriction on how many away fans were allowed, so the atmosphere seemed to be so much more exciting. Not in any way condoning the hooliganism of that era, but it can be very very flat at Carrow Road these days!
Chant's of the day: You're going in the river! You're going home in a f*****g ambulance! My all time favourite sung to West Ham, You can stick your f*****g hammers up your arse!
Why can't we throw toilet rolls on the pitch anymore? That was good harmless fun!

    "I was bor-orn under the Bar-clay Stand,
    I was bor-orn under the Bar-clay Stand,
    Boots are made for kickin',
    Guns are made to shoot,
If you come up the Barclay end,
We'll all stick in the boot.
    I was bor-orn under the Bar-clay Stand,
    The Bar-clay, Bar-clay Stand"

There was one for sale on a auction web site I spotted last night for £1:99, can't remember the site's name but if you type in Martin Peters testimonial it will probably take you to it. Sorry you can't have mine!! :emoticon-0126-nerd:

Sitting in the Feathers Bar on Prince of Wales road watching Newcastle fans throwing beer glasses into large holdalls preparing, presumably, to tip them on some unsuspecting heads at the ground, sitting in the Jolly Malsters as it was being trashed by Chelsea fans, having a meat hook stuck in my arm through the wire in the Barclay by Wet Spam fans. Ah, I miss it all terribly. <whistle>

Was there for that to. Saw the bloke fall through the roof. Remember walking out with my dad and seeing a tree on fire. Then a bloke in a burger van that was shut up poked his head out and asked if it was safe to come out!

We won 3-1 I seem to remember playing attractive , attacking football. Oh how far we have come!!

As soon as we got into the ground Dad would buy me some Mackintosh's Munchies, by the time we had got to the top of the River End steps they would all be eaten, happy days ;)

My Dad would buy us a cornet each from the Eastern Counties Ice Cream van and then moan like hell that it wasn't as good as Paravanni's <laugh>

I was just thinking the other day about the people that used to go round the touch line with sweets and I think peanuts in little bags. You had to shout down to them with what you wanted, they would give it someone at the front who would pass it up to you, you would then pass the money back. Imagine that, what honesty!
