Played in a football team mid 80s, and we quickly worked out that we all had 'trigger' tunes - if someone hummed the first couple of bars, you were incapable of not joining in. Mate of mine had Do Wah Diddy. I had the theme from Robinson Crusoe....how they hit on it I'll never know.

I was working in Waterford in Ireland in 1977 renovating a bar next to the main bridge in the town and there was an 8-track player with just one cassette, Don McLean's 'American Pie', whenever I hear it I always think of the 5 months we spent there...
She had good taste in music (with the wisdom of hindsight). Karen Carpenter like Sergio Mendes and Herb Alpert has gained respectability they never had back then! Always thought it was easy listening ****e but... it stil is.
Anyone watching BBC4? They're showing mid-70's pub-circuit rock bands, already had Dr Feelgood and Eddie & the Hotrods, some good stuff...
