I was on French Opera when he got nutted on the line by Pigeon Island in this 3 years ago. I've backed him to pay me back at a big price today.

I'll get accused of aftertiming, but a good day today.

At Fishers Cross
Our Conor
Bob's Worth

Did them in a patent, doubles, Lucky 15 etc. £950 banked. Only Chapoturgeon (which I knew, deep down, wouldn't stay) let me down for an even better day.

In the lucky last, I think Nicholls might get his second winner of the festival in Ulck Du Lin. Loves soft ground, and it looked really tough out there in the next to last race. Think it needs a guaranteed soft ground horse to stay, as Geraghty alluded to when interviewed after Bob's Worth's win. Battler needed to, so a reverse forecast of Ulck de Lin and Kumbeshwar appeals too.

Good shouts Ted... It seems like a few of us made the bookies pay today... Its all good stuff...<ok>

You after timer you...<laugh><laugh>

Don't matter red, he's jumped like a Skoda so far.

Amazing it's the last race and they always go off like fecking lunatics <laugh>

Well Drumshambo 4th at yesterdays price of 25-1 puts a little bit back in the Reebok rucksack, but I have to say ......

Thank **** it's all over with - and with luck I won't need to sell the house <laugh>

Catch you all tomorrow, good luck if playing the donkeys on the beach <ok>

looks a really interesting final day today (hoping it will be a little easier than yesterday to pick a winner though!)

1.30 I reckon Barry Geraghty can get off to a good start on board ROLLING STAR, i was keen on the Nicholls horse but the yard seems totally out of form
2.05 a complete lottery this race so will pick a couple of eacy way outsiders - MANYRIVERSTOCRTOSS and CLERKS CHOICE
2.40 One of my big hopes for the week AT FISHERS CROSS. The rain may be coming for it. If it doesnt then AFRICAN GOLD
3.20 I can see the arguments in favour of SDC and SC but for months I have been thinking this is between LONG RUN and BOBS WORTH, the latter if he gets in front may not be caught
4.00 Salsify again
4.40 Edeymi and Makeyourmark have claims but another each way outsider DOUBLE ROSS may well make the frame
5.15 Wouldnt be surprised to see Geraghty ride a treble today and can round off the day on FRENCH OPERA. Petit Robin has had an outstanding season and can go close.
Also if McCoy is still yet to have a winner he will be going all out on Alderwood

anyway should be a great day!

fantastic day. I actually tipped up some winners and some good long priced each way horses for a change!
that rounds off the jumps season in a way for me - Aintree is not really quite the same and I love getting stuck into the early season flat races.
still my enthusiasm from today will carry on into the Midlands Grand National tomorrow.

been great on this forum this week too. ok im off to count my winnings now :emoticon-0102-bigsm

Evening guys, studied the form again and hoping for another decent day, after a cracking start to the day today with a 20/1 winner in the opener i tailed off with just one more winner Cue Card at 9/2, however, they covered my bets and more, hopefully ive not used my luck in one day. Tomorrows selections are as follows:

1.30 Triumph Hurdle which I have narrowed it down to two both at reasonably short prices FAR WEST 7/2 and ROLLING STAR 7/2 if I had to split them the C&D form of FAR WEST and his experience would just give him the edge, however, the stable form is a worry but I reckon this one is good enough to get PN off the mark at the festival.

2.05 VOB Hurdle my two against the field are KIANS DELIGHT 33/1 EW and TED VEALE 10/1 EW if i had to side with one my choice would be KIANS DELIGHT who i think will relish the conditions underfoot.

2.40 Albert Bartlett here we are looking for a horse that has competed at least 3 miles over hurdles and in the Top 6 in the betting, to that end my selections are narrowed down to a shortlist of three AT FISHERS CROSS 11/4, CLOUDY COPPER 10/1 EW and INISH ISLAND 10/1 EW i think all three have very strong claims however, my order of march would be FISHERS CROSS, INISH ISLAND and CLOUDY COPPER.

Now the big one the Cheltenham Gold Cupi cant see this race going any other way than to Nicky Henderson and my two to fight it out are LONG RUN and BOBs WORTH if i had to split them i would give it to BOBS WORTH on the grounds that the jockey is more experienced but i do think it will be a close run affair.

The Foxhunters Chase I will keep this brief and go for SALSIFY at 11/4 and a big priced BENEDICTUS 66/1 EW

Finally in the GRAND ANNUAL ive a short list of three, however, none are from the Henderson yard who generally does well in this race, i think it will be between ULCK DU LIN 9/1, RODY 7/1 or ALDERWOOD 6/ and if i narrowed it down ALDERWOOD is my choice.

Good luck all tomorrow, and hope its a great Gold Cup

That's when you know your luck is in winner after winner what a festival. I should do this studying lark more often.

What a cracking week capped of with a winner that looked beaten with no fences to jump. Pleased the jockey got up okay :-)

Five from six is what I call a great day at the races, let down by FAR WEST for what would have been a cracking Lucky 15 return. But one must not complain. My best festival yet :-)

Infront on the week but still feel annoyed as i should have won alot more.

I bottled lumping on Quevega, Boston Bob falling at the last was a killer, and I can't believe I talked myself out of backing Bobs Worth. Who I'd been keen on all year, backing Silviniaco Conti instead.

Still the nap At Fishers Cross went in, who I had my biggest bet of the week on at 5/2 early morning, so I shouldn't complain.

Good to see that alot of you had a very successful week:biggrin:
