This is just bollocks really. The only two on there who should be there are Ibrahimovic and Di Natale. David Villa, Drogba, Eto'o are just 3 who are better than the rest on there.
Based on what? This is based on goals scored (as 'top strikers' implies), which is a considerably more objective measure than whatever your opinion happens to be.
Yeah, but Drogba hasn't been playing at Galatasaray all season, Villa has mostly been injured and Eto'o plays in a poor league.
Yes, but my point is that you can't just base the 6 best strikers in Europe on 1 season's stats. Look at how many goals Eto'o, Drogba and Villa have scored in the last 5 seasons or so.
You can if you're looking at it from a purely statistical viewpoint on an entirely statistics-based website...
Well looking at it statistically, the sample is too small to be accurate. One season is nowhere near enough stats for accurate results. In any stats, you need as big a sample as possible. That's why these stats should be ignored.
It is when you're looking at the best over 30 year old based on one season.... if it was done over multiple seasons we'd be ignoring many 30+ players.
Sheesh, they're not saying they're the best players, 'top strikers' simply implies they have scored the most goals, which they inarguably have. I can't understand what your issue is.
Tom I'm sorry mate but I think you're completely missing the point. All this is illustrating is statistically speaking the top strikers in the top five European leagues based purely on goals scored with other comparative stats thrown in. They are not saying those players are the best strikers in Europe over 30, or including any other factors or past seasons, it's just purely the top scoring strikers over 30 this year.
I believe you should give up on this one, tomw19. The table is clearly about 30 year old and over strikers goal performances this season. Whatever the merits or demerits of the players themselves, the table was drawn up by the authors and those are their criteria. I don't believe it was meant to be any more than a 30 second minor interest read, in any case.
Here's some more stats for you, the 3rd placed player might surprise you! please log in to view this image
That's unfair. Lambert has always had the potential to be good, perhaps even great. He needed someone to see it in him and nuture him. Football, like life, is still very much a case of being in the right place at the right time, and there are too many out there where opportunities in life pass them by.
