As were Dungarees.......and denim jackets with a cartoon patch at the back. (Or was that the 80's ??)
Silk scarf tied around your wrist and Marine Boy.......how many of us found out the hard way that there is no such thing as 'oxygum' LOL Oh yeh....and the two fingered 'Peace' patches you'd sew on your jeans even though there was no hole.
Yeah....Captain Scarlet and as Sb says.....being allowed to stay up and watch The Sweeney...Bliss! I really fancied Suzie Quatro too.
You've unwittingly provided a genuine medical service here Cerny. In some homes for the elderly they have rooms decked out in 30's or 40's style to help those with dementia reconnect with themselves. This is looking like an online version. We are truly drifting into the arena of the unwell. Good fun though.
Marine Boy - 70's manga! Think UFO was just before The Big Match on Sundays. Then we'd have the roast. I'm not sure if this is healthy......
Only just read last page so don't know whats been posted previous...but what about watching Dads Army the first time around...Who do you think you are kidding Mr Hitler......still as funny now....
Ok just read the whole thread....can i add Jimmy Hills' Football Weekly and other proper football mags....
listening to www.m80radio.com - spanish radio station playing 70 - 80 -90 music, worth a listen if you are feeling all nostalgic!!! Boney M mega mix on right now!!!!!!!
Yeah, I remember it on a Sunday slot. They often had Arthur of the Britons in that slot too, with Oliver Tobias, and sometimes bloody Follyfoot Farm, which I hated even though Q was in it. Randall & Hopkirk appeared in that slot too. I shared Col's crush on Suzi Q as well.
mmmmm Suzi Quatro with those black leather trousers.....she asked me if I can the can and so I did down at devil gate drive!!!
I still watch Dad's Army now. The rest of the family look at me as though I'm some sort of saddo (possibly true). The thing about DA is that it can't possibly be dated because it was dated when it was broadcast the first time around... If that makes any sense? Great chemistry between the chief protagonists on that show too. I was reading about Arthur Lowe only a week or so ago. I had no idea that he was an alcoholic and struggled with the demon drink during much of his career.
Somebody on CB's older ladies thread mentioned Your mother wouldn't like it....Does anyone remember when Capital Radio was launched...."All the hits and more on 194".....they had a show called that every weekday evening....Nicky Horne was the dj...he played some cracking music...
