Sorry lads, but I'm starting to lean towards the 'Bale is world class' camp. We've used the argument that Gerrard is top class especially after having to pull Liverpool through the mud for years. How much does Bale drag this Spurs team?

 

Cant decide if I want Spurs to go thru, to give them more games and make them concentrate on the league less, or lose cos i cant stand them

 

I think their team is still pretty good.

But I agree Bale is World Class.

When you watch him in full 90 mins he's more often than not on another level above most, if not all other players on the pitch.

 

Really good player, but world class? That's pushing it. So many players who are better than him. I don't think he has enough to his game to be in that world class bracket (yet, he might keep improving).

But we do know that Spurs are completely useless without him. Getting smashed tonight.

 

Cambiasso should have won it. 1 on 1. If Tottenham go through they are very lucky.

 

Great that it looks like they are gonna get an extra 30 minutes, b4 a big league game on Sunday

And nearly all there key players are playing

 

Now I'm hoping Bale does leave this summer!

 

If Tottenham go out of Europe because Bale dives so much he gets suspended, and he is still considered for player of the year then it will be a total joke.

 

I don't say world class often so when I do it carries a bit of weight

Depends on definition of course. For me, its a player that would make a world squad.

For me, he wouldn't make a world squad. He's not rounded enough as a player (again, yet). Depends on your system, but if you play a 4-3-3, there's better wide forwards who contribute to the team more. If you play a 4-5-1 with him as a winger, you're ****ed, because he things he's God and doesn't stay out wide, nor cross. If you play 4-5-1 with him behind the striker, there's alot better options.

He's still good enough to carry spuds though.

 

He's able to tackle, pass, shoot (short and long), run with ball, hes quick and has bags of energy. Id say that pretty well rounded. You have to consider his versatility too.

Bale is very effective at attacking if you only concentrate on that. Hes not as good as Ronaldo and Messi but they aren't as rounded as Bale.

Finally they scrape through on the most ridiculous of all football rules (away goal scored in Extra Time) so they can exhaust their players and fail another day.

And Bale has all the ammunition necessary to bring THFC's wage structure crumbling to its knees when his agent walks into the boardroom.
