Talking of the 'R Whites' advert, without looking it up, does anyone know who sung backing vocals on the tune ??? Famous 80's singer ?? No cheating
Apart from the fact I was only in the UK for the first year of 1970 to 1990 the seventies were very good where I was it has to be said. 1978 was imho the all time highwater point with things getting progressively worse from there on with more laws, repression and of course the CIA organised Moro kidknapping which was the excuse to **** Italy's future up good and proper. All downhill from there to Berlusconi and now that dog Grillo. As for offspring mine is a fanatical Milan supporter which is hard to take. Thanks Barca, you made my day
I cheated and looked it up.... he also played the drums on the track Apparently the mystery man's father wrote and sang the main theme.
Some great memories there Uber. I loved the Tomorrow People and I really fancied the blonde bird in The Champions. I'd add my Chopper bike, with the gear stick in the centre and watching the build up to The FA Cup Final from 10am on a Saturday. Thunderbirds too!
Forget what it was called but the mode of transport they said would take over from the car, part engine part cycle, how odd ! One of my mates still got one in his garage, needless to say it never took off
Here, here ............... even us convicts had more fun in the 60's & 70's than you have had in a lifetime. Babyboomers rock!
I'm 31 this year believe it or not but it has to be said I would of preferred to have been brought up in those halcyon years; I might joke about it but when you look back at some of things I feel like I've been left out in some sort of way. If that makes sense !
No cheating, honest Guv, its Elvis Costello/ Declan McManus, and his Dad is actually the bloke singing to the fridge in the ad. For the time capsule: Budgie Budgie jackets 3button waist oxford bags The Sweeney (still being shown on ITV 4, still brilliant) The Owl Service Tassle Loafers football scarf tied around the wrist proper caramac recording songs on to tape from the radio (usually John Peel's show) The '74 World Cup Holland team Hotwheels High Streets with loads of independent shops The old School End UFO (TV series)
I loved all the Thunderbirds, Captain Scarlet, Joe 90 stuff. It wasn't until I was a teenager that I could see the strings. Swap Shop was great too. Bit of that then Cup Final Grandstand. Bliss.
Do you remember those Pink Panther chocolate bars, Stan? They were delicious. Radio Luxembourg to go in, too.
You've brought a tear to my eye with the list sb I'll add scarves out the window of your car when travelling to an away match ( still think some do it to this day )
Think Space 1999 and UFO were from the makers of Thunderbirds etc as well. Bazooka Joe gum - think at one stage (this would have been 60s) they had Captain Scarlet cards as giveaways.
