Becausewe were talking about the PL so I stated all stats since that was invented. Go on then, instead I'll give you 4 winners in 30 years if you'd prefer it? And i really dont see why people keep going on about runners up as if that's something good.
A whole lot of Spain, Italy, Germany, but that's just my opinion. Even after watching Schalke the other night, they were unlucky and I was impressed, anyone who says at the minute we're the best is quite deluded, look at the Man United side dominating the league at the minute, you telling me that's a brilliant team? Because it's not, yeah they're a good team but in my opinion the fact they're top by so far highlights how poor it is.
It would not surprise me IF Arsenal missed out on Europe full stop next season. With Swansea already assured of one Europa spot thats one less for the big teams who miss out on a top 4 finish. I agree. Wenger is starting to reap what he has sown.
Not at all. Manchester City had more than enough quality to walk through there group stage but they play as individuals and not as a team. Chelsea the same and all the in fighting does not help. Arsenal cocked up the home leg against Bayern. Manchester Utd were much better than Real Madrid over the 2 legs but got cheated out of it. In saying that, Man Utd should have parked the bus after Nani got sent off as both Madrid goals were down to piss poor defending. Only Barcelona IMO are better than PL clubs.
Bollocks, you can't just make an excuse for every team, if a team doesn't play together and play crap then they aren't good enough? Chelsea obviously aren't good enough as a result of the problems they're having, Arsenal are so far off being good enough, just look at their league position? Man United weren't 'cheated' out of it, and well there you go both the goals were poor defending you've just proved my point?
True. You have to go back to 1995/96 for the last time we had no english teams in the last 8(qtr finals). FACT.
Man U are a long way clear in the Premier League and desrevedly so, they are a better team than people give them credit for, and their striking options are better than in 1999 and perhaps one of the strongest any ENglish based team has had. In Spain barca are about 13 points clear, Germany Bayern are 20 points clear so that would point to a real lack of depth in those leagues. Like you said it's your opinion which you're entitled to, but my opinion is that you can't make a judgement of quality based on the current year's performance, also where you credit Schalke for their recent performance one could argue that conversly based on their performance against Arsenal last night, Bayern the undoubted runaway leaders of the Bundesliga looked poor.
I cant believe people actually think Utd were cheated. It was sending off every single day of the week. How about instead people consider Wellbeck kicking the ball at Real's goalie's nuts as he sat on the floor having the rest of the goal to aim at? Or RVP being offside in the build up to Utd's goal? Or Raphael's handball when eh shouldve been sent off?
Of course they where cheated. Nani should never have been sent off and Utd were by far the best team to that point. Only in this modernday-mamby-pamby-pussyfied-limp wristed game is that a foul. Just typical of Platini and his limp ideas of a non contact game. The game has gone way too soft.
Try telling that to 'hardman' Roy Keane. Not sure how the head of UEFA can be blamed for rules of the game either....
Roy Keane likes to big himself up. Platini does not like the physical side of the game. Not as a player and not now. The game is almost like Basketball.
The fact is these 'low-quality' English sides just beat Bayern 2-0 on their own patch and completely outplayed Real, even by the admission of the special one. They both lost the ties overall, which proves it's a great, competitive competition (that's a strange phrase I guess) but you can't say these foreign teams are miles ahead of our top teams when the recent games clearly show they're very well matched.
