@skysports_bryan: Peter Taylor appointed Head Coach of England’s Under-20's. Two-month contract. 2013 FIFA World Cup Finals in Turkey this summer.

    He did ok at Hull.
Got us out of division 4 and Division 3 when I was wondering IF we would ever get out of the 4th division..

Doesn't seem to have done any good since he left.

He's our second most successful manager, give me a reason why we wouldn't like him!

Firstly... Peter Taylor is your second most successful manager <laugh>

Secondly... We just assumed you didn't like him, you seem to have a problem with ex-managers <ok>

Problems with ex-managers, thought that was Leicester was good at. Taylor, Sven, Martin Allen, Holloway to name 4 a number of your posters seem to hate, is Megson also in that list?

He did win us back-to-back promotion to the Championship after spending 19 years in League 2 on the brink of losing Football League status though?

We're not exactly going to hate him <laugh>

Granted, sometimes his tactics and approaches to games were abysmally boring and stupid (i.e. having all the possession and chances but then converting to defensive once we were 1-0 up) but still, we wouldn't be where we are now without him.

I understand Palace are also quite fond of him <laugh>

Personally, although he did get us back to the second tier, I found his brand of football mind numbingly boring, EVERYBODY back for ALL corners and all that bollocks, leaving no outlet, and, as someone else said, once we had a one goal lead it would be case of defend it for your life!

Ironically, I think Taylor's style was very much like Pearson's(at least for us).

Both set up not to lose, rather than to win and wins were often by accident and down to individual players.

Both played effective, but often frustrating football.

We did well under Taylor, back to back promotions, but he was always a lower league manager. You can't play eleven men behind the ball in the Championship without getting punished on a regular basis.

    Hate is a strong word.

I don't have a problem with most of them, only Holloway really as the man is an idiot and took us down to League One.

But I don't spend all my time on the Crystal Palace board being bitter and hoping they fail in spectacular fashion <ok>
