Should we go after Benteke in the summer?

I think he could very useful.

He wins everything in the air, he has pace, he has good skill on the ground. He's a bit raw, but he's young and developing.

He scores goals in a ****e Villa side. He can score headers, finish well on the ground and is a great penalty taker.

All he needs to do really is improve a little bit on the deck, but if we can get him for around 7-10m, surely he'd be a good buy?

If Pardew has seriously been wanting Carroll back for all this time, then he's obviously after a target man. Wouldn't Benteke be a better buy?

We're not gonna get Carroll for cheap, and he's probably bound for West Ham.

Agree with Gandalf, 'bigger' clubs will be in for him and we'd be priced out. It will be an unheard of for £2m for us.

 

If Villa go down I don't think they could turn down offers of 10-12m for him. It all depends on their survival.

 

Nah, Championship clubs are delusional when it comes to selling stars these days, hence why we don't do much shopping there these days. Zaha went for £16 million or something ridiculous, and Benteke has got to be better than that surely?

And like Obi says, there should be enough big clubs sniffing around to start the bidding high.

Benteke will be world class Villa and potential buyers will know that, not feasible option I'm afraid.

 

I like him, generally looks good in a poor Villa team

Lukaku is going back to Chelsea end of the season, so I suppose that puts them out of the race.
