****ing whistle happy ref interrupted the game far too often We got a bit unlucky with the Walcott offside call too, when he was clean through and Gervinho's turn in the box could have gone in. Overall disappointing to go out, but we restored a lot of pride tonight and hopefully it will give us a shot in the arm for the rest of the season
Play like that for the rest of the season and I will only be worried about getting fourth (as opposed to being petrified right now)
What a game. These are the games i love to watch us in each season - nailbiting games against the best teams in europe. I'm pleased with the performance. Solid at the back and scored 2 against a bayern team that have only conceeded 10 goals in there domestic league this season. We may not be through but it was a good result. (Oh and after the game on sky they commented on the ref being ****ty for arsenal - but no im not blaming the ref 2-0 was a good result and better than anyone thought we would do)
If we had some more quality up front then we could have done it. It was a respectable scoreline and the best we could have hoped with the limited quality of our squad. At least they gave a spirited performance.
Best iv'e seen Arsenal defensively in ages. Going forward, only 2 attempts but 2 goals!!! As for Bayern, that was ****ing dreadful. They obviously thought that the tie was won after the 1st leg and nearly payed for it. If they play with that attitude and lack of intensity against a better team (Real,Barca,Dortmund etc) they will get punished!
