Morning Everyone, We have gone from a team that score loads, but concede loads to a team that has tightened up their defence but don't know where the net of the net it. When we signed Varney I was skepticle as his goalscoring record as he had scored a total of 21 goals in 103 appearance since 2009, hardly prolific. The truth is, he is not good enough in that position. He's a 100% player, I have no problem with his effort, and he gets into the right positions, but his finishing is league1 or 2 standard at best. It also seems that McCormack has also forgotten what a forward is supposed to do in front of goal. His trickery is great, his runs are brilliant, and he looks great in front of goal, but whats the point when he can't put the ball in the back of the net. Posh had their chances in the game to win it, Gayle (a player we had barely heard of) was a constant thorn in United's side, and was unlucly not to win the match for the Posh. Is it time for Warnock to go??? Nothing against Peterbough, but shouldn't Leeds Utd be beating sides like Peterbough, especially at Elland Road? Hearing the boos at full time on the radio, really indicates that we have not yet turned the corner.....
Morning elland Yes I think we should beat sides like Peterbough home or away if we are serious about trying to get promotion I'm sad to say that I think it's time to forget this season and start planning and preparing for the next one Get a new manager in and let him use the remaining games to assess the squad and what needs to be done But I fear that Bates has put us so far back that it will take some years to get us running again. And that the summer transfers will be as they have been for the next few years as we don’t have that much money to spend. So we can only dream and hope GFH can get some investors in before the summer that can put some money into the club. Then we can sign some quality player and have a serious go at promotion next season. But even if I think that the season is over I will always cheer us on hoping we can win every game we play
Morning...massive opportunity lost with Brighton and Leics dropping points. I fcuking hate this "Cup Final" league where teams that are **** raise their game against us and play way beyond their ability. And therein lies the problem. We struggle to sign players capable of coping with the pressure of playing for a big club with big expectations. The inability to turn draws into wins shows a sense of choking, uncertainty, nervousness. Too much to do now, to have any chance we must win all our away games, but that will be rendered null and void anyway because Huddersfield will come to ER on Saturday full of fight and belief, and they will get a result against this stuttering Leeds team. Millwall happy along with all the other clubs we face next season because they keep their Cup Final.
Michael tonge was ****ing dire Ross McCormack attempting a overhead kick n head butting the floor knocking himself out sums up our season
Morning all. Guess why were not scoring? No Becchio anymore. Why are any of you surprised cos Im not. It was clear the day he was forced out, our last glimmer of hope of a play off spot was extinguished.
I said we needed 20-25 points from the last 10 games to get into playoffs and thats still possible. Probable? No
Eire - Becchio was not that good mate. 2 seasons in League 1 where he failed to score over 20, only 11 last season. Reason he's scored so many this season is the 10 penalty's you've had.
Was injured for first half of last season. Scored 19 in first half of this season. The team wont score 19 in second half at the rate they're misfiring. I refuse to listen to people criticising Becchio unless we have better which we don't and won't
Doesn't matter how you look at it facts are facts. Warnock claims we're a better team without Becchio yet complains that nobody is putting chances away. What do you expect when you get rid of your only consistent goal scorer?
S. Warnock needs some praise for last night (first half anyway). He looked absolutely blinding on the left, his touch was amazing and showed how he'd still be in Prem if he wasnt a tad slow now. Very impressed. Obviously not great in the 2nd half, and for god sake stop shooting Stephen! First half yesterday was as bad as it gets really. We were awful against the team bottom of the league. Posh are actually good to be fair and I dont know how they are down there (they should be mid-table the way they played at times). But there is no hiding that if we want promotion we HAVE to beat teams like them. (Can you imagine playing like that against prem opposition week in week out????) Second half was much better, and with a bit more class we would have won 4-1 - cardiff, palace, watford etc would have based on the sheer amount of play we had. Why cant anybody finish?? Also, I've heard so many people slating Colin for bringing on Austin instead of Habibou as we needed strikers. I think in that scenario he was the best choice. Firstly, the fresh energy Austin can bring was needed and we all know he can get forward and be a threat, BUT more importantly Posh were equally close to a second goal so more fight in midfield made alot of sense! But Varney should have come off for Hall/Habibou too if it wasnt for Lees injury
Also, when was the las time Leeds were outside the top 6 on the average attenances table? Brighton, Derby, Forest, Wolves, Leicester, Cardiff and Sheff Weds are averaging more than you this season - who is to blame for that one as they were considerably higher under Bates' stewardship?
Also strength in depth isnt there. Teams that are going somewhere rotate their players. Players who are shattered arent going to perform evey game and that isnt really Warnocks fault (or is it?). Byram for example looked flat on his feet for much of the game and could do with a rest (but he wont get it)
Strength in depth has been a problem for a long time, we all know that. We all know who to thank for that one.
Bleeding hell mate ..... don't flatter yourself .. you are not our cup final My team are not ****, as you so nicely referred to them ...... They are inconsistent, yes. But have some good young players who when they get it right can beat top teams such as Cardiff ...... you seem to forget you are only a mid table Championship side. Well done for managing to get a point against us, better teams than you have lost
. ...... Sorry Elland but he pissed me right off calling my team ****. Who the hell does he think he is?
Orion I thought Austin was great when he came on although i would have taken tonge off instead of Norris I'd have taken Ross off a long time ago and he wouldn't have featured at all over recent games if I'm honest
