People are very touchy when it comes to City being "belittled" as they see it. In reality, they're giving an opinion on a football messageboard that they hope their own team does well, and nothing more. You wouldn't be a good fan if you didn't want your team to do well.
What belittling? I just see folk trying to predict too much; these fans who think we cannot be caught by LC have not experienced football. Far better off keeping your powder dry and taking it one game at a time - after all we have hardly been convincing. WTF your last line means is beyond me; I never realised you had to waffle on about future outcomes to be a good fan - some might think you were tempting fate.
I will get slated by the sheep, but I agree, passion-wise, the watford game is massive. It will decide the fate of both teams.
Fez mate, half this board is reflection the other half is speculation. That's just the nature of your average football fan and as we approach the vinegar strokes of the season that's bound to be the focus. I'm focussed on Forest but I'll allow myself a little think ahead.
Fair enough, I don't disagree, but writing off teams with a chance of catching us is begging for trouble.
**** Watford, **** Cardiff, the big games are always the next in line. Forest is as big a game as any until we have played it. In simple terms it does not matter what games we lose as long as we win five out of our remaining. We need 15 points out of 27, who gives a **** how we do it.
too right, this league is way too ****ed up for that. that's why I think tonight's 1-1 was a decent result and why I won't get too ahead of myself until mrsfattiger is warming her vocal chords
Disagree. The Man U game in 2009 is the biggest game since Wembley. **** or bust to stay in the Prem. Short memories, some people.
I know everyone's standards, including mine have risen over the course of the season but is anyone remotely pleased that a play off berth is most probable ?(we'd need to lose a **** load of games and for brighton to win a **** load for it to not happen) I would certainly have taken top 6 at start of the season. We need to stay positive, carry the team forward and things will go well.
I don't think anybody thinks we can't be caught by Leicester. It only takes us going on a 3 game losing run and them on a 3 game winning run and we're level with them again. What we're saying is when we're looking at Cardiff playing them we should be looking for Leicester to take the points, because if we mess up enough for Leicester to catch us then it's highly unlikely we're going to still be ahead of Watford and Palace anyway, so all we'd be deciding is where in the playoffs we finished. Equally they might as well take the points against Watford and Palace if they're playing them, because that gives us a bit of breathing space.
But we arn't going to go on a 3 match losing run are we. Of course the Watford game is massive and should be bigged up by the club and fans to make sure it sells out. Its the Cardiff game that will be our biggest since Wembley, arguably our biggest ever if we take the title which is quite possible.
Firstly, read back and you will see that there are those who think Leicester can't catch us; it's a mixed bag which is why I have not generalised - they are entitled to their optimistic view, but it seriously challenges the superstitious sensibilities of those who can recall bigger reversals than this in sport. Secondly, I have said consistently that I wished Leicester to take all three points; if you have confidence and ambition you want the damage done to the team above you. Like I said, one game at a time and let the opposition worry about themselves, because they will cock-up all on their own. What we need is consistency, not flowing football, this is the do or die part of the season and every game should have a must win attitude. Edit: Sixth Sense!!
Is this live on Sky or has it just been shifted back cos Hudders is? Wondering if we're on twice in 3 days.
No it's not. It would appear that due to our kick off against Hudds being moved back a few hours we asked to put back the Watford game to the following evening. Watford fans aren't happy about it
yes but that same exact logic means we'd also be miles behind cardiff, so why would it be important for them to lose 3 pts to lester.
