    Yeah I like Lambert.

Fan of Lallana especially, and Schneiderlin is pretty handy too.

You do realise in voting for Southampton you have essentially resigned being a Liverpool fan don't you?

These polls are not about being honest - they're about mindlessly following Liverpool despite the odds/facts/reality <ok>

Imo he's our only player who could arguably walk into the starting XI of any other PL team. The guy is just class.

Tough game to predict, we've had some poor results recently so I could see our players being really up for it and putting in a big effort, and on the flip side Liverpool have had some good results recently and have usually slipped up around this stage, however that is usually against more obtuse opponents than ourselves. Unlike Stoke, Villa, West Brom etc. we will likely play right into Liverpool's hands, we'll press high and likely disrupt you a good amount, but it only takes one or two balls to slip through to Coutinho, Suarez or Sturridge and we'll be in trouble.

Think the game will come down to who is the least wasteful in front of goal as both teams have a tendency to squander opportunities, I think for us to have any chance in the game we will have to start very strongly, disrupt you and grab a couple of goals in the first 30 minutes, if we don't do that then I think our only chance of taking anything from the game will have to come gift-wrapped from Liverpool.

*EDIT* I echo Brendy's words, Lambert, Lallana, Ramirez etc. get most of the attention as our 'key players', but Schneiderlin is head and shoulders our best player right now, and that's saying something considering how highly I rate Lambert. There's no team in the league that wouldn't be improved by him. We've probably set him up to have a ****e game now but nevermind! :emoticon-0102-bigsm

Confirmation from the club that Joe Allen requires surgery on a shoulder injury and could be out for up to three months.

Probably a good idea to get the surgery does as soon as possible so he can be fit and ready for next season. Rules him out of Saturday's game.

It's just a shame that, Luke Shaw aside, none of them are defenders! Christ alive have we given away some awful goals this season. It's the biggest reason why we are where we are. So much about us says Premierleague in my book - on and off the pitch - except for our blooming defence.

Has to be priority number one, should we survive. Get that sorted, and we'll immediately be a top 10 or 12 team, a la Swansea.

Yeah I can see that. A couple of decent defenders would take the pressure off the attackers too. They probably feel under pressure to score as they know a load will go in for the opposition.

Got the infrastructure already. I think if you survive you'll stay for a long while like last time.

So important this season for your guys.

Hi Guys, good to see a shared thread, it is very insular posting solely on one board and not sharing match threads!

I can only see a Liverpool win as the have finally got some momentum and are scoring for fun. We were poor at Anfield and I see Saurez and Sturridge enjoying themselves. A few months ago it may have been a different story as we were going well and you were floundering a bit, maybe due to cup commitments.

Hopefully it will be something like this though: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iH-KwbStobw

We used to have a great record against Liverpool at home but unfortunately it is in the past.

What do you think is an achievable position for yourselves this season, Liverpool fans :)?

5th I think. I'd like Soton to stay up, I know the sacking of Adkins was a farce, but there is something I like about your current manager.

Your on a bad run, we are on a good one. I can see fortunes changing for both sides this weekend. This is very much a banana skin for us, I would be very pleased if we managed 4 wins in a row!

    Like Saints.
    Like their fans.
    Like their Stadium.
Got a few decent players like Ramirez and Shaw.
Play good footy on their day, fantastic against City.
With us doing Spurs last game I'd fully expect to go on and lose now in a game were expected to win.
Not going to do that this time.
    3-0 LFC.

I wonder which Saints will turn up? If its the team which beat Man City then we could get something out of the game. Trouble is you seem to have hit form and we have struggled since that game. Fortunately, whilst class is permanent, form is only temporary. I hope that we get a performance, even if we can't get 3 points. Looking forward to the game.

I think after the Boruc last minute save at Norwich the squad will be well up for this one. I have a good feeling however

If we can get 2 goals up we'll win, if we can't we'll lose. Don't think it'll be a draw.

More likely to win IMO if Davis plays instead of Ramirez.

Schneiderlin will be awesome whether we win or lose and keep Gerrard quiet. Trouble will be from balls from the defence over the midfield.

I'm seriously considering a bet on Liverpool to finish 4th. What do ya think?

Your run in consists of two tough games, IMO. - Chelsea and Everton. The rest I think you can win.
Everyone is saying QPR could stay up, and some of the teams that could go down are 7 points ahead of them. Your 7 points behind Chelsea, so what's the difference? You've got to play them at home too, which is a massive advantage where you could quickly close the gap.

Seeing as arsenal have lost wilshere, and chelsea isn't running smoothly with Rafa... I reckon it's possible ya know.

Fair play to you guys if you do it. You've taken a lot of **** recently, but this just goes to show that a season is decided over 38 games and how quickly things can change.
Even if you don't quite do it, Brendan Rogers will have done a great job in his first season.

anyhoo, back to southampton. Away win. 1-2.
