The Palace fans watched Burnley v City with interest. They seem to think that because they beat us and we didn't play well against Burnley they are better than us. One fan admitted we were better than them in out home game against Palace. Most of them seem to think second place is between them and Watford. They are obviously basing this on the last two games they have seen of us and the "difficult" matches we have coming up. Given the rubbish most teams have played some time or other this season I'm not too worried. I still have faith in Bruce doing the right thing.
Let them think what they want - I will be delighted if we play like we did last night for our remaining away games and win them all 1-0. Palace know they have a tough game at Brighton this weekend and a victory over Forest could mean we lead them by 6 points with 8 to play.
Some people don't have a clue, it's not about playing brilliant football at this stage we got 3 points in a solid professional away performance, I don't know why people think away from home you need to play brilliantly and win by 2 or 3 goals.
I'm hoping we can over the nerves we showed last night. It's so important we bring Koren back in for Bruce in midfield. Not just for his skills, but also for his experience,we are going to need that. It is obvious the Palace fans are basing their opinions on what they've seen first hand. Hopefully, Forest will use last nights performance as a gauge of our ability too.
Palace are nothing special and last weeks result against us was well set up by that clueless Linesman. Until then they were going nowhere. But let Palace fans think what they like. But as the age old saying goes ""its the sign of a good team that can win and not play well"" ------------------- The FA have just announced that Palace manager Ian Holloway and player Zaha have both been charged with mis-conduct. Holloway coudl end up in the stands and Zaha a ban for a game or 2 ?
Last night was a different challenge. Long periods of possession without many real tackles, until the pitch softened a bit, the pitch looked rock hard.
Shame the Brighton v Palace game is not on sky on sunday. There is real hatred between the fans akin to MU & TWS.
Bruce and Koren provide completely different offerings. We need someone in to do the donkey work covering for the back three. Koren wouldn't do this and neither Meyler nor Quinn have that in them either
The London-centric media (particularly the Beeb) would have a joint tantrum if neither Palace or Watford went up. The one I can't stand the most is that shrill-voiced cow who commentates on Radio five. She only covers London teams and while having multiple orgasms over them she barely has a word for more northern opposition. (not that I'm sexist or anything)
I've a mate who's a palace supporter and i can tell you now they have delusions of grandeur, yeah they're a good side but any team that gets the number of pens they do is likely to be right up there. I'm hoping Brighton will get 1/3 points this off them this weekend then all we have to do is beat a resurgent Forest which won't be easy but when do city do things the easy way?!
at the end of the day if we don't get automatics i'm still very happy with the playoffs. Winning ugly is better than losing
Two things have kept palace up there with us this season, penalties and Glen Murray's form, take them away and they'd be back to mid table mediocrity.
This threads are becoming more and more frequent. If we go up to the premier league, we'll get these sort of comments every other week and they won't always be pleasant.
Lets talk about us, sugar the rest, i think its good when they talk about us they must be concerned, lets hope it stays that way
In the PL in most cases it will be justified though. It's getting a bit tiresome being told after nearly 40 games that we're in a false position, it's not like we're Cardiff.
Why is their position false? I'm not a fan of theirs but they've been consistant all season. Winning is all that matters. You don't win owt playing like Barca but losing.
