With Hull scraping three points with a scrappy win at Burnley (well taken goal), tomorrow's match is another test of our credibility to lead the division with some conviction.
Question is will Malky want promotion, knowing that the reward will be a probable sacking after a short period. Mind you watching that game tonight, it is time to move on up and take our chances.

    TEAM NEWS

Cardiff captain Mark Hudson is set to return to the side after missing the last two games.
Striker Craig Bellamy is also available having missed the draw against Derby with knocks to his calf and ankle.
Leicester right-back Ritchie de Laet is a doubt after being carried off in the last match with a leg injury. The fit-again Sean St Ledger or Zak Whitbread are poised to deputise.
Left-back Paul Konchesky's hamstring injury may keep him on the sidelines.

    MATCH FACTS

    Head-to-head

    • Cardiff and Leicester are going toe-to-toe for the 60th time in a competitive game, and there is nothing between them, with each club winning 23 of the previous 59.
    • A Craig Bellamy goal proved enough for three points for Cardiff in the reverse fixture just before Christmas, and gives them the chance of the double over the Foxes last experienced in 2005-06.
    • The Foxes are hunting a first away victory over Cardiff since their 3-2 triumph in the second leg of the Championship play-off semi-final in May 2010. That result made it 3-3 on aggregate, and Cardiff went on to win 4-3 on penalties.

    Cardiff City

    • A second maximum in five league games will be Cardiff's 23rd of the season and match the total they accumulated in 1959-60 when last promoted to the top flight from a 22-club Second Division.
    • The table-toppers have dropped only 10 home points and have shipped fewer home goals than any other club in the Championship (12).
    • The highest total of points required to gain automatic promotion in any of the last 17 seasons in which this division has had a stable structure was 92, and the lowest 79; Cardiff need to win seven of their 11 remaining fixtures to match the highest return, and just three to beat the lowest.

    Leicester City

    • Leicester have picked up one point out of nine, but a second win in eight matches will not see them climb higher than their current fifth placing.
    • The Foxes have gained just one home victory against the top six clubs, and are yet to take all three away points off any of the top eight.
    • Nigel Pearson's side, who have the meanest defence in this division (31 goals shipped in 36 games), also boast the best second-half record in Championship games this term - achieving a scoring advantage in the second 45-minute spell from 19 of their 36 matches.

Well just seen the suggested team for tonight in the Echo, if that is the case we may struggle, Conway still in on the wing !!!

I wish I could be more positive about our chances but all I can see is a Cardiff win, probably quite a convicing one too.

<laugh>If only it was Sparkey. We're really low on confidence at the moment so I'm preparing myself for the worst.

Mind you we're both on poor runs atm so you never know.

Tbh I would love to see Leicester win tonight just to keep the race for the championnship title go on for a little longer . Although my choice of any team go up with hull would be cardiff. Its been a long time coming for the boyos from wales . What a party HUll vs Cardiff would be on thr final day. That of coarse providing things stay the same. As for a scrapy win, well ill happily take any performance that collects 3 more valuable points

We'll get the points tonight as long as we don't pay Leicester too much respect. With the players we have it's time to let the opposition worry about us.

What's everybody's thoughts on a draw? Another chance missed or a valuable point?

It would indeed be great if the last match of the season were a match that decided the championship, with both teams being guaranteed promotion at least, regardless of the result.

I think a draw would be a further steading of the ship, but would, ultimately be two points dropped. Mind you, it all rather depends on how the result is achieved. I've been nervous recently but feel that Hudson's return should help see us through. We can count ourselves lucky that we had such a big lead at one point adn were bound to have a wobble. Let's hope that wobble is done and dusted.

That's one of my big worries Sheepy - Malky might think it would be a good result.

Don't want to harp on, but we have got to stamp some authority on a game at the CCS - we often seem too scared of losing to actually go and win it.

    Sheep!
I would honestly think a draw would feel like a loss. If Leicester are one of the best in this league, which they are, we need to be showing that we are far better and are a credible potential Premiership outfit. No more safe, let's see what damage we can really do to good opposition with the attack force at our disposal. Big win and a big gap please Malky.

In all honesty, when a lead of 11 points slipped under DJs tenure, with inferior players, some quarters were calling for his head. Now I like MM and he's done well since taking over but now is the time to show his skills and get a win against one of the "top" teams. 4 from 12 is not promotion material!

No it isn't but 24 away points from a possible 27 was outstanding and the reason we are where we are.
We had a bit of luck in a few of those, we had no luck against Brighton that''s the way it goes sometimes.
A draw would be ok tonight, 6 clear of Watford and 4 clear of Hull but a win would really settle the nerves.

Bellers and Hudson back, FC's ever increasing match fitness, Conway surely dropped. I honestly think we'll take the 3 points. KTF.

If it is Conway to the bench (and it should be), the telling thing will be who plays instead of him.

If it's Cowie tucking inside to bolster the midfield I'll be disappointed, not because I don't like the guy, it's just that we need to be more positive with Noone or Kimbo taking the game to them, rather than playing Cowie just trying to contain the buggers.

It's all about mindset, and Malky has been very conservative with his selections even at home this season. If we invite them onto us again like we've done with others before, it could all end in tears.

Who wants the points most will be the deciding factor, and that would worry me if we set up just attempting to keep the one we start with.
