If Un Atout and Grandouet go in I'll have had a great day.
Could be a day for shocks though if the going is testing, which seems likely.
X-country where it should be at the ***-end of the day!
    Good luck everyone.

Given up on trying to fly today - airport still closed and outside looks like a BBC documentary about Anctarctica. The wife has been on t'interweb and found a decent little hotel quite close to an Irish pub in Frankfurt so I'm going to try my luck there

Only four races that interest me today.

Supreme; MY TENT OR YOURS decent win bet.
JLT; MONKERTY TUNKERTY of course as I have been on him all season, should make the frame at a decent price. Quite glad Cantlow has bypassed this race now.
Novice hcap; I have a big bet at tens on THE DRUIDS NEPHEW though I do fear Rajdhani Express and Johns Spirit.
Cross Country; Backed LEAC AN SCAIL for fun money at 40-1 antepost.

Leaving the other races alone as there really is no value but will of course be yelking for KGL in the mares

    Good luck everyone

Haven't been betting on horses much recently, so probably abit rusty, but the 3 I fancy are Un Atout, Overturn and Grandouet.

Might lump on Quevega later in the day, if her price lengthens abit, which I'm sure it will, if a few of the earlier short ones get turned over

Son Of Flicka pulled from the Coral Cup. I hope he fails miserably trying to win the Pertemps as McCain and co are a bunch of ****s.

    1.30: Un Atout (16/1 A.P)

Un Atout for me just stood out like a real racehorse when I first saw him run this season. He won a maiden hurdle on the bridle and there was something about him that reminded me of Simonsig. It is a hugely bold thing to say and that doesn't mean I am supremely confident in him winning this, but it means I think he is a horse with a huge future. He is a big sort who will make a chaser, and he barely looks like he's had a canter round when he finishes, which for me tells you all about his engine, and the fact that he will stay well beyond 2m one day- most probably 3 miles. However, he must have a lot of speed because he has simply cruised from the front and nothing (albeit nothing of real quality) has lived with him. The further he goes the better he looks and I suspect he will be some horse when he hits top stride. The worry today is that he is against some real speedsters so we have to hope he does have the cruising speed to get a good sit- if he does have then I'm certain stamina won't be the problem and he will relish the hill. Champagne Fever might really help set the race up for him hgere by making this a proper, true test, and if his jumping holds up he has an interesting chance. I think he could equally have made a massive impact in the Neptune, but with Pont Alexadre the talking horse, Mullins has taken a chance on the Supreme with him. Al Ferof won it two years ago with a similar enough profile- lets see.

    River Maigue 14/1 e.w

I think this horse is underrated and that had the races he has been seen in been run to suit better and had a proper pace, I think we'd be talking about an 8/1 shot and not one at 14/1. Barry Geraghty has always liked him and marked him as one to follow, but he had no pace to aim at when outsprinted by Dodging Bullets, and was undone again when a keeping on 2nd giving 7lb to the potentially very smart Far West. My Tent Or Yours is the stable hotpot and I understand that, but River Maigue will stay the trip better, is already proven up the hill and with a strong pace, might come home the better of the two Henderson runners. He has no problem with the ground, and his biggest factor will be jumping. He does tend to give his hurdles a bit of air, but I actually think the true pace today will help him tenfold today, and I see him running a seriously good race. Henderson said this week that its the best he has had him all season, so I think 14/1 is a huge price.

Gutted for you though ROTO as I know you had covered him antepost for the Coral Cup.

Chin up- my festival plans went out the window last week when Monksland got pulled from the World Hurdle- he was my absolute NAP of the festival! Few minutes to let it go out your system then relax and enjoy todays selections buddy :)
