Don't think there was any stand out performances tonight, but in terms of importance for the team: Boyd Quinn Hobbs
Boyd Quinn Simpson (did i just put Simpson in the top 3?, without Simpsons 2 touches on that play Quinn doesnt score and we dont win)
My opinon 1. Boyd - Brilliant signing, did all the important jobs tonight without really noticing he was there. 2. McShane - Can't believe I'm saying this; what a fantastic job he did tonight. Completely opposite to his horror show last year. Was the pick of a solid back 3. 3. Simpson - Game changer when he came on. Set up the goal for Quinnaldo and footwork was brilliant.
Chester Boyd Hobbs I do not rate Bruce, but he got into the game as he went along and towards the end the idea behind him was working a bit better. Have to say though Chester never put a foot wrong, you just don't notice him. Boyd's movement was class, my Man City friend i watched it with loved Boyd. I think Hobbs and Macca could either of won it, but i gave it to Hobbs as he seemed to pick up Austin.
McShane Boyd Quinn Chester and Hobbs just miss out to Macca, due to his improvement being nothing short of incredible.
1) Quinn 2) Gedo 3) Boyd Quinn because his general play was OK, but his great strike, in the end, got us the 3 points. Gedo because he worked his socks off, closed down every ball & had a good strike with his weak foot from a tight angle, he's a far better striker of a ball than our other strikers. Boyd because he was great once the 2 subs were made, although he did relatively little before that.
Boyd Quinn Hobbs Macca rushed out of position a few times for no reason, a decent player would have exploited him no end.
Chester McShane Brady Thought Quinn was totally ****e and the only decent thing he did all game was that shot Chezzy and McShane were just resolute. Brady was about the only person making anything happen at the right end of the pitch, sadly no one was there to profit from most of his work, the one time there was a man there, Meyler tried to shag the ball into the net.
That's a good point about Gedo, his off the ball play was fantastic tonight and he's certainly not use those absolutely bitter wet conditions! I really was impressed with Hobbs too, he contained their forward play and was just edged out by Chester and Mcshane for me but a brilliant performance from hobnob
Elmo Boyd Hobbs cant believe so many people are putting mcshane in their top 3... he made a few interceptions, which is his job... but he misplaced so many passes, or just booted the ball up field when there was a easier/safer pass available. i saw SB a few times bollocking him from the touchline.. one of his worst performances of his recently good form i would say.
Chester Boyd Quinn Chester cut out so many forward moves, Boyd just makes **** happen and Quinn got us the points.
Boyd Elmo Simpson (had a great half an hour when he came on). Not a classic, but it really didn't need to be. The win and the clean sheet is so much more important.
