MOTD2 is ten times better than MOTD. A lot less arrogant and far more informative. Pat Nevine is superb when I can understand him and so is the guy from Reading. They both talk a lot of sense. I like the presenter as well as he seems to like the Saints for some reason.
Truth is as someone else has said the MOTD format has not changed that much for the last 20 years or so. The Sky analysis team knocks spots off all the others. Hanson does know his defending there is no doubt about that.......... as for Lawrenson I find he contradicts himself a lot of the time when he tries to get too technical. He then just waffles as he seems to be out of his depth at times!
I hate lawrenson but I like lineker and the 2 Alan's... Lawro is the only one who seems to speak ill of saints but there is no denying that they know their stuff. If you want terrible football shows look at late kick off. Very dull and monotonic and that is with Beattie, the player that started me supporting saints... Also, lineker et al are much better than manish and claridge
MOTD2 is the lesser of the two evils so far as the coverage is concerned but both shows are outdated in their format and badly lacking in quality. MOTD mostly needs a total overhaul of their staff, it's too cliquey and they all just go through the motions Hansen says the defending is diabolical, Shearer says it's a great finish(echoed by Hansen). Rinse and repeat. There's always contraversial refereeing decisions in a weekend of football so why not get an ex-ref to talk through the decisions on MOTD2 like Sky Sports News do? Don't even get me started on the commentators, Motson should have retired years ago and Jonathan Pearce should never have been a commentator in the first place. On the plus side Nevin and Murray are good on MOTD 2 but despite having both shows on record I usually delete the episodes without watching or fastforward the punditry between the highlights. I'm not sure which genius decided to put Judas on the analysis team for the North London Derby but that was pretty much the final straw, especially after he failed to even crack a smile when Murray made a joke about him being equally loved by both sets of fans. The worst thing is that Murray's getting replaced because of these kinds of jokes as well as getting involved with the football analysis with the "experts" and they'll get a new more lifeless drone in to step in and ask painfully tedious questions to the pundits.
Sorry to be a bit picky, but the no swear feature isn't working, you seem to suffer from Internet Touretteâs syndrome and the frequent use of the F word e.t.c isn't really good, just shows a lack of intellectual control. Please self moderate, thanks.
It has changed quite a lot actually since they got the rights back from ITV; it used to be more like the football league show with a couple of featured games and then only the goals from the others, whereas now they have more comprehensive highlights of every game, with lots of cameras and live commentary.
Sorry, I'll take more ****ing care in future, arse, tit, knobweasel, redknapp, spunkrag, nipplewank. Sorry.
