Just wondering does anybody have any lucky charms etc. I have a little story from yesterday which I thought I'd share. Arrived at Heathrow and took out my oyster card. Inside the cover, I found the kid's travelcard I had bought him dated 15th December. I looked at the date and said to him, that is the day we last won at home. I was convinced we would win. I kissed the old ticket and headed to the match more convinced than ever we would win. A piece of paper was my lucky charm yesterday.
My wife, son and I all took different scarves than normal to Southampton and Sunderland, plus we had doughnuts before both games. That must be the reason for the two wins.
I was bought a QPR 1986 Guiness shirt for my birthday wore it for the first time last week and again yesterday even though I could not make it (Beth hope all was ok).
My mate gave me a third shirt he won at HT. We've won three out of four that I've worn it. I said that is wear it for the villa game if we beat sunderland even though I'm watching at home. Ill wear it for Wigan too.
Chuck them all away guys. It's nothing to do with luck. It's down to me. I had seen every game live this season, whether at the game, on telly or watching a stream over the internet. Until Fulham at home. I did not miss another one until Chelsea away. No such thing as good luck or bad luck. Curses are not for real. Are they? Watching another handful of games without even so much as a sniff of victory and feeling particularly despondent about our chances I decided that I could not face another 90 minutes cursing the pc last week. Not when the missus had an afternoon of digging in the garden for me to do. We know what happened. By now, I was intrigued. I deliberately avoided getting anywhere near a telly yesterday until after 5.15. Result? Our best win yet. Lightning. Same place. Twice. Thrice. Four times. Mathematical improbability. Who cares? I have taken a vow not to watch any more games live until we are safe. I hope I will be released from this torture in time to watch the boys take all 3 points at Anfield.
Unfortunatly my QPR deodrant is running out I have wore it for certain games since the funeral of of a friend I sat with for many years ( liverpool at home last season ) hopefully there is enough left for our remaining home games I did wear it yesterday
Interesting Yorkie. I thought it was me. I have to sacrifice my involvement in QPR and martyr myself, work every Saturday, do good deeds - without pre planning them - it all has to be spontaneous. You will all be delighted to know that I am willing to do this and to be this martyr for the good of our club. Make sure this is noted on my headstone please someone.
I am slightly worried 3 of the 4 wins Flyer has seen in person...none have been with me I have seen both home wins...both without Flyer I am due to be with Flyer at Wigan.....
Dump him Beth, he is not good enough for you The only lucky charm we need is Norway. We need to get him over here as often as possible. To the best of my knowledge his last 3 matches have been Liverpool (3-2), Stoke (1-0) and yesterday. Please come back again soon mate.
Tipped us to loose the last two games and have worn an Ale shirt watching them. Will be continued, and without washing the shirt!
Some great tales on this thread. But... I don't really believe in all that supersticious nonsense though. ( But I have put aside every item of clothing I wore to yesterdays game. Ready to wear to the next one.. )
This is from the man who wore the same clothes to all our home matches last season after the Liverpool win!
Lol, too true mate. I hate those bloody white jeans now. Even Brix mentioned why wasn't I wearing them the other week.
