I'd love to know what the players really think of our chances of survival. If we are disheartened, some of them must also surely be down about it all. Aside from that particularly hopeless waste of space Bosingwa, you'd think they must care and have some pride.
Ok we need to send out a search party for Norways' mojo...any suggestions where to start looking....it is our only hope!!!!
It's Wednesday.. too early in the week for me to be optimistic.. come Friday night - I will be filled with unrealistic dreams of a win the next day - and usually frustrated and angry by 5 O'clock Saturday.. it's been like this for me more often than not since 1976! I appreciate the op Eddie, though. Has cheered me a bit (actually more than a bit - I've just read another thread on here full of Soton and Pompey fans behaving like 8 year olds - strewth!)
Although I'm one of the doubters, today's results have gone our way big-time and another win next week could really get the momentum swinging our way and then I might actually believe we can pull it off!...
Swords - get back in your kennel and grab a bone - Eddie's one of the good guys here! Hi Eddie - any good upcoming "dog" picks? Did you put your money where your mouth was with R's @ 4/1 for the win today? I put a fiver ($'s) on them. If we had lost today, I would have been close to throwing in the towel on our season hopes.
Hi Kilburn, how you getting on mate. good result today, we will survive! this is the start of our survival mate we will not go down! now get on alien planet for this years Derby, I got 50/1 had £40 each way, got a great chance. and I did back the R's today but only got 3/1 at Corals, had £50 to win...
Good on you Eddie, I followed your previous tip and have $10 each way on Alien Planet @ 50/1 placed a while back. I guess instead of $5 on R's to win @ 4/1 (pre-game Bet365), I should have put $100 on it, but those final minutes would have been way too stressful. I remember good old Blonde Snapper from last year's Derby - really like those trap 5/6 wide runners - was 10/1 when I placed my wager. My 22 year Toyota Corolla 4WD wagon (see automobile thread) died last week, so I need $'s badly to buy a replacement to get me to work. I'm turning 60 this year, but 5 kids (11 - 20) are a money pit, especially with 2 away at university now - I need all the good luck I can get. My backyard local mechanic (who works for $15/hr rather than $75/hr at dealership) has been collecting Platinum from old exhaust system catalytic converters. He has sent a packet away for chemistry analysis and if it is at least 95% pure he will get around $3,000 after refining - clever of him. My scrapped Toyota one is in that pay dirt.
Week two of my prediction and six points chalked up! Now the Villa game is MASSIVE!! 2-1 win for the R's and I'ts game ON!...................................WE WILL SURVIVE!!!....................... Trust me I'ts written....................COYR'S
I have a bad feeling about the Villa game (although they looked very lucky yesterday) but reckon we are still in the mix either way. There's enough teams that are struggling for form that still need around a point a game to be safe. ...and for once we have shown we can get points on the road which is rare for us.
I'm sure Harry will be looking to take advantage of Villa's defensive weaknesses at set pieces, may be worth a few quid on Samba to score...
Matt we should be going into this game with positive vibes. NW has just said on SKy that he thinks QPR will win this and he says he is confident we will. Their defence is young and may crumble under the pressure. Their fans go quiet at home if things are not going well. They have a good attack and we need to keep their forward boys quiet? However i really think the game will be won because of our attack v their defence. Be positive guys because if we win this we are well on our way!
I agree with this 100% Ellers. This is a real pressure game for both teams, but more so for them playing at home, they are very fragile at the back, their home support is not great,if we go at them with pace very winnable.
Villa match is a massive, althought there have been at least ten similar massive match for us during past couple season. The most important thing to do is keep Benteke out of the ball and be as effective as its possible in our scoring chances. I believe Remy and Benteke are the key factors in that match.
They are definitely looking more fragile than us at the moment and their fear of losing that game might be greater than ours. Their gamble on youth is only successful if they stay up and their build on that confidence but you're right Ellers, it is their Achilles heel too. Keep them quiet for the first 20 minutes and give them a few moments to worry about and we'll grow more positive as the game progresses. I think it's just my mindset - always hopeful but never expectant (every game from Man U away to Sunderland at home). A loss wouldn't be the end though and I don't think we should be reverting to the doom mentality if the worst happened.
I agree, this is a critical 6 pointer game for both sides. As was the case last season in this fixture, I hope we can 1-0, then 2-0 up, to take the Villa fans out of the game, then shut up shop, hit them on the counter, and not let them back into the game as we did in that 2-2 draw. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/16714062
