Yes, Cosi, I apologise for my part too. I wonder if part the problem here is that, in our enthusiasm for the season to start, we opened the race thread too early when there wasn't enough on-topic stuff to sustain it.
Right lets move on.... SECTOR TIMES FROM BARCELONA!! please log in to view this image What really surprised me at first was Mercedes' advantage over Ferrari in the (downforce) sector two. Then I noticed that Massa did a 30.3 in the middle sector despite his best lap being eight tenths slower than Alonso. That means either Alonso was sandbagging or he made a mistake. The same applies to Massa for sector one, because Alonso dominated there and Massa was only 11th when he set the 4th fastest lap of the test. Alonso being fastest in sector 3 despite Rosberg having a better overall lap means Ferrari have better traction. Although if Mercedes ran heavier than Ferrari (which I find unlikely,) the reverse would be true. It has to be a worrying sign for McLaren that Button was slower in the middle (downforce) sector than Adrian Sutil (who did a 1:21.627 - 2 tenths slower than Button). McLaren being heavier on fuel would explain it, but that doesn't change the fact that both McLaren drivers are relatively worse in the middle sector.
Forza: I like that post. You make your points very clearly. Good one. (And thanks).- - -o0o- - - And yeah, Joey: no worries!
For those of you who still live at home don't forget mothers day tomorrow. A chance for valuable brownie points to be used at future f1 Sundays
So these were the fastest sector times but not set on their fastest lap?s I think it's a little hard to judge teams in this instance IMO.
Since testing ended, I have been studying the results very closely and produced a highly sophisticated inverse sector analyzer which can predict fuel weights to the nearest 1/100kg by detecting minute travel in the suspension. It has been crunching the numbers for days and the results are in. The results conclusively prove that at least one of the starting cars will win the opening race! And on that bombshell...
I loved last year how the conditions in free practice were often completely different to those in quali and the race. Turns everything on its head
Almost needed the hospital for Brazil, looks like I better book up in advance this time with the first race of the season!
Lol, Brazil was the worst case of weather forecasting I've ever seen! Every single person that predicted the weather at any given moment was always wrong
Tell you what I was ****ting bricks when Emerson Fittipaldi was talking to Emilio BotÃn when the cars where coming to their boxes before the parade lap. He looked up in the sky, rubbed his hand to feel the moisture and nodded his head and knew it was going to rain, sorry but that was epic and I don't think many people noticed that. I'll always trust personal experience of weather reigons than a computer.
