Today is the first time in over 50 years of following Rangers I've felt like chucking it and walking away.

I'm not just sick of Scottish football, I'm sick of what has become of us and the state we're in.

If we're brutally frank the game's a bogey - the game up here has become a sick joke.

The only thing Scotland had going for it was the Rangers Celtic game and without it there's **** all to look forward to.

I love nothing more than beating those bastards and know they feel the same - that's healthy. But now we have both teams playing friendlies every week and the penny is beginning to drop that like it or lump it we need each other - we need that hatred.

The way I feel right now I don't see me going to another football game as long as I live. Sadly, I know I'm not alone.

    Goodnight.

It truly is woeful big man. McCoist has to go. The players should be docked wages for results like that. Totally unacceptable no matter what way you look at it. Disgraceful!!

Yesterday was a terrible result. I don't know if Green's motivational speech midweek helped either. Broadcasting the fact that it is the worst Rangers team ever couldn't have helped the confidence of the younger ones and might prove detrimental in keeping folk like Lee Wallace at the club. Despite that he's right they are pish.

I've been on here all season supporting McCoist when folk have said sack him, but I'm starting to lose patience. We have no God given right to win every game nobody does, but we surely must be capable of beating Annan Athletic at home. I watched how Billy Davies had turned Notts Forrest around on television last night and most of that is down to his motivational skills. That's meant to be Coisty's main strength.

I agree Rocket Scottish football is of a really low quality and has suffered because of what has happened. Celtic's euro run has been a convenient distraction for the men in power to say that the game's healthy. Why then are attendances dropping rapidly at domestic games? What happens next season if no Scottish club does what Celtic achieved this season. There is no real competition in the top league. Our carry on in the third is laughable our team is a mixture of arrogant primadonnas, clueless mercenaries and a bunch of keen young guys who need the old hands to support them. Only Wallace and McCulloch seem to be able to offer that support on a consistent basis. I know when I was a kid I would have done anything to play for my team, as is the case with any true supporter of any team. A lot of these guys don't get that.

It's ****ing hard man, but keep the faith. We will be back.

I think I'm losing interest in football in general, not just Rangers.

It's heartbreaking having to watch what what has happened to the game up here.

    It's not just about yesterday.

Scottish football is now a complete joke.

Celtic punched above their weight this time round which brought our game a bit of credibility at least, but the reality is the game's dying and no one seems to know how to save it.

A bigger league and a three non-home based limit might help. I don't know if that's legal though.

The whole game needs to be revolutionised from the bottom up. Kids are not really interested in football today. You don't see them outside, why go out and run about pretending you're Jimmy Johnstone, Gerd Muller or Graham Souness when you can be Messi or Ronaldo with all the attendant skills by pressing a button on an x box controller? Years ago you tried to copy your heroes moves when you were playing outside. I remember taking hours trying to do that turn and shoot thing Muller used to do. My nephew and his pals all went online and palyed as a team on FIFA 13 last week. They were all really excited about it. I found it ****ing hilarious and suggested they all play fives. They thought I was mental. That's what your up against.

TV money hasn't helped our game either. The money generated by Sky means we can't compete. Isn't the championship in the top eight leagues or something financially? We can't compete as a nation and every year most of our teams get put out of Europe in the preliminary stages. You could argue that smaller nations less developed countries do better than us, maybe that's down to them still playing the game as kids as they can't afford all the gadgets that fascinate our lardy weans.

Ironically I thought we would be in a really good place. Rangers could start bringing the youngsters through and built up a young Scottish team at Rangers and that would eventually even help the national side. As we're seeing it takes a lot of patience and a lot of frustration to do this. Hopefully some of the money generated on our way back up will help other clubs to improve their lot. I bet as we get up the leagues though that we will see less and less of these kids. I hope I'm wrong.

My total footballing ideal is the Dutch model, I wish we could adopt it.

    Spot on, Moses.

Years ago at this time on a Sunday half the scheme turned out for a "Ten -Twinty Wanner " doon the local school pitch or the local park.

As a wee boy all I ever cared about was playin fitba' but kids these days are lazy bastards.

I still ran and played in my own team in the Veterans League up til a couple of years ago but the auld knees have just about gone now.

Scottish football, to anyone outside Scotland, has been a ****ing joke for years, not just this season.

You're allowing what's happened with rangers to cloud your judgement - or perhaps it's only now you're seeing it because you've no emotion invested in the top league.

Alot of good points in here.

i think mccoist should be given another season atleast, he's not had much time to build the team, the players he did bring in were rushed through. i think he did well to talk temps, black, sheils etc to come whilst also keeping wallace, little and alexander

That was probably the worst game I have ever seen Rangers play.

We had 30mins to score an equalizer and never even went close. Annan were first to every loose ball and looked fitter than our full-timers.

In Annan's last away game, Montrose beat them 5-1!!

    That's how bad we were.

The bottom line is, and it's been like this all season no matter who we play, when another team attacks us, they always look like they are going to score. We were 2-1 down and they looked more likely to score.

I'll say stick with Ally just now though, he's been dealt a ****ty hand and deserves at least another season. <wah>
